So, I decided to go back t GameFly. I've been a member like 4 or 5 times over the year and I always want to like it, but it feels like the turn-around time gets worse every single time I sign up. I've used the weird and fake-looking Gamerang in the past with no problems and 2-day turn-around, but they don't stock some games.

Anyway, I sent FarCry2 (More like Fetch Cry, amirite?) back on Saturday. It's Thursday. In that time, I got a package from California. I just don't understand what their turn-around problem is. Gamerang is like. 2 days tor receive, 2 days to ship.

Such a pretty website. At least I got the intro pricing, 12.95 for 2 out. I can live with the turn around at that price.

They were alright a couple of years back, but yeah, the turn around time is pretty atrocious at the moment. They got one of my games last Wednesday (which I had sent to them on Saturday), sent the queued game out on Friday and it still hasn't gotten here.

Is it really their issue if it takes long to get the package? Wouldn't that be an issue with the post office?

Then again they used to have the fast shipping things where they would send the next game when it's scanned at the post office but I haven't had one of then in months

Shipping to me has always been fast, 2 days tops.

It's their issue since part of the problem is the lack of local distribution centers. Also worth noting is the sometimes strangely long time between them receiving a game and sending out the next game in the queue.

It's not a prob except that Netflix turnaround is like 2 days, Gamerang turnaround is 2 days, and I get packages really quickly. Against the average of usual postal delivery times, they're way under.

Yeah, Netflix (when I used them) was quick. Mail movie on Monday, they receive it Tuesday, I get a new movie Wednesday, ship out again, get new movie Friday, etc. They were FAST. Granted, they have a center in Phoenix and all Arizona customers get 1-day shipping, but still.

I resubscribed to Gamefly (again!) and the thing that kills me is that they have a returned game, but they don't ship anything out when they receive it. I shipped out Chrono Trigger DS on Tuesday, they received it today, HAWX and Skate 2 have high availability... but they don't ship anything. Now I won't get anything by Monday at the earliest.

They are pretty good for me. One thing to note though, that fast shipping option isnt used by all post offices I think. I know 1 of the two post offices near me doesnt use it.

I live on the east coast. Getting games to them takes a little time but I get my games in 2 days flat.

Gamefly is garbage in the midwest.

I use gamerang and get all my games in two days since they have a shipping center in minnesota. Gamefly took 4. Gamerang tends to have more games available to rent as well. One thing Gamefly does better is their buy it now prices, but this isn't worth it for two wasted days each way for every rental I make. Also retailers are slashing software prices now that the gamefly keep it prices aren't even very good now for new releases. Wait a month and you'll find a game available for $39.99.

What's funny is that there is a Gamefly distribution center in Tampa and it still takes 3 days for my games to arrive in south Georgia. I'm afraid to go to Gamerang because their closest distribution center is in Oklahoma.

That is weird, but South/Central Ga has weird mail routes and issues that crop up alot.
