American Idol 8

So we are like a week away from the finals and the season has been pretty shit aside from this dude Adam Lambert, which EB should love and this other dude named Kris Allen which is going to be competing against the former in the finals.

Anyway, anybody watches this? I like it for the "original" covers personally, last episode an awesome version of "Heartless" (wtf right!?) was done by Kris Allen, who also did a great version of "There ain't no sunshine" and "Falling Slowly" (Once). Those 3 plus Adam's emotastic "Madworld", "Feeling Good" and "Tracks of my tears" were the highlights of the show for me.

Now, i don't go out and buy Idol winners cd's, but singing competitions are just as interesting of a competition as any other form of competition on T.V.

Anybody excited for the final? After that Heartless thing i'm pretty excited personally.

I've been pulling for Kris to win since about the 3rd week. He has that Jason Mraz sound that I love.

Not that I give a shit about who wins American Idol but that gay Twilight vampire dude is fucking god awful.  He sounds like Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden and looks like Garry Glitter - is this what people want now? smh

Idol this year hasn't been bad, the level of talent is much better than the last two seasons imo. The top 7 were very impressive and any two of them deserve to be in the final (last year they were a joke except for the top two).

Kris Allen was someone I hated at the beginning, he didn't pack the vocal chops needed to be a winner, and especially because kept on going for being a "heartthrob". At least that's what I thought of him until he started showing off some originality in his covers. I think I started liking him after he did Ain't No Sunshine. His cover of Heartless just amazing as well.

Lambert has been consistently good but I'm not a fan, Gokey was just boring, Matt and Allison were my favorites.

I think this is enough cigarilloing for one post.
