The kid wins tens of millions of dollars yet won't be mobbed by the public. Sounds like win to me.

5 years. Standard 3 year rookie contract, 1 year club option, 1 year club tender as restricted free agent. After 5 years (sounds like Communism), he's free to go anywhere as long as he doesn't do anything stupid like sign a deal with somebody after year 4 that the Clippers could then match.

What are the Clippers going to do with Zach Randolph?

sit his fat ass on the bench since he has a horrible contract no one wants

anyway they may take rubio

SAN FRANCISCO -- I talked to one NBA executive in Los Angeles on Tuesday who said it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Clippers reoffer Baron Davis to the Warriors for Corey Maggette if the Clips can land Ricky Rubio in the draft. The Clippers are big fans of Rubio, and obviously they can't play him with Davis.

The Warriors turned down similar overtures at the trade deadline, but they might want to reconsider. With a healthy Davis, they would be a playoff team. But as of now, they lack a regular point guard and look as if they could be making another trip to the lottery.

baron :hyper

although im not sure i'd want his lazy ass back, but then it's not like the team could get any more fucked up

The Warriors pretty much dealt everyone that was worth a shit away. it'll be an interesting off season this year. Hopefully the Pistons can make a couple really good pickups. Ditch Iverson, Sheed, and get a couple good younger guys in. fuck it.

Hardly - they still have Biedrins and Randolph who would be two most valuable guys now. Wright missed a lot of time with a bad shoulder. Morrow and Azubuike are bargains considering the input they give too. JAX and Ellis are definitely overpaid but with Baron gone they needed to keep something.

Really if they got rid of Crawful and Megette they'd be doing better. Of course they have a horrible puppet front office for Nellie and the owners are morons so I'm not expecting much.

I have no NFL team. I jumped off the Bills bandwagon and have not replaced them with another team.

Before the draft I said a conspiracy would lead to Griffin going to OKC to validate them taking a team, and Sacramento would drop because they're going to lose theirs in a couple years.

So it's a half-conspiracy.

Kings screwed in favor of LA, nothing new.

Well, the Clippers' involvement is somewhat new. But the Lakers winning the lottery would have raised too many eyebrows.

Why the fuck does LA have two NBA teams again?
Because it's the second biggest market in North America.

The more important question is how someone becomes a Clippers fan instead of a Lakers fan. "Nah I'm not going to cheer for the team that won countless championships, instead I'm going to cheer for a franchise that has earned a playoff spot just three times."

I mean, I know it's a big market, but who the fuck doesn't cheer for the Lakers rather than the Clippers? They even fucking play in the same venue. I'm surprised the team isn't bankrupt or something. They should move it to Cincinnati or Louisville.

Louisville would actually work for an NBA team because the state is already crazy about basketball, whether you are a Louisville fan or a Kentucky fan.

Kentucky likes college basketball; that doesn't mean the state likes pro-basketball. Louisville is less than a tenth the size of LA and it doesn't have the corporate money that LA has.

Since LA is so large and has so many rich dolts, the Clippers can make money even though they're probably the worst run franchise in the NBA. In fact, according to Forbes, the Clippers have made at least $10 million in operating profit each of the last nine years.

They're not going bankrupt.

Some people back home follow them because they occasionally played in Anacrime. I'm a go local team kinda guy but the Clippers aren't a team. (cf: the Anacrime Rams aka Major League 3: Front and Rearier)
