Batman: Arkham Asylum = Beaten.

Fantastic game. Really loved all the Scarecrow stuff. Kinda weak final boss, but that's not a huge deal.

EDIT: After that game I think I'm ready to take on the Splinter Cell games. Are there any games in the series I should avoid? Please, give me the scoop, EB! I've only ever played the demo of the first game, and I didn't like it at the time since I was a weeaboo who didn't appreciate gaijin trying to ape Kojima. How are the PC versions?

I'd check out Chaos Theory for the older games and the newest title, Conviction.

I didn't mention that I've played a healthy chunk of Conviction but I didn't like it because A) it's too easy and B) doesn't really punish you for not being super stealthy.

But I'll check out Chaos Theory. Anything worth seeing in the first two games?

Alright. Well this is nifty, there's a collection of the first three games. Gonna just play through them and call it a series.

Conviction is really REALLY good. Had tons of fun with it. Let me know if you ever wanna do some co-op.

Is the co-op different from the single-player in any way? Also...do I even have you on XBL!?

So the whole NO FAST TRAVEL IN DLC bullshit in Borderlands is starting to annoy me. Starting in T-Bone Junction and having to take 20-25 minutes to work my way over to Sunken Sea to do missions is incredibly tedious.

Yea, that killed our borderlands obsession too. We did get through zombies at least

Vesperia is by team Symphonia I think. And the wolf is one of the hardest bosses in the game, that battle is an odd difficulty spike.

Wolf isn't hard to kill,  but killing it while fulfilling the secret objective was super painful.  :-\

fulfilling the secret objective wasn't hard, just have the plant stands between you and him and then spam azure fang, you'll hit both the plant and the boss and he'll get stunned

anyway one reason i was still getting killed is because i didn't stock on gummies and resurrect bottle,i tought i couldn't go back to town because "OH NO GUARDZ!!1!" but apparently i could anyway so i restocked and kicked his ass pretty swiftly

anyway when do i get to synthethize new equipment? i haven't seen a single weapon shop and the item shop only let me synthethize gummies which is boring

wow i realized only now after like 6 hours of playing that item shops DO sell weapons, you just had to scroll with LT/RT instead of LB/RB :duh

well i guess that at least the good news is that i have tons of gald to synthethize anything i want, tough i will have to do some grinding to catch up with the skills

hope i didn't miss anything for the item achievement,i already forgot to scan one of the earlier boss but i guess there is always new game+?

also is it just me or is flynn basicaly the jrpg equivalent of suzaku? good thing he doesn't join in the 360 version! :smug

Haha there were secret objectives? What? Are they just for an achievement, or is there an actual in-game purpose?

Someone sell me their copy of Vesperia for $10 plz. My copy got lost at a friend's when I was only just getting to the meat of the game

you get 5 gamerpoints and extra loot for every mission like the third boss only drops some lame ingredient but if you fulfill the secret objective he also drops an attack boosting ring

getting all the objectives it's also a requirement for one of the titles which also ties to another achievement that requires you to get every title

Replaying Sacred 2. It's helping to clear the air of the stench of disappointment DA2 left behind.

Also Borys you need to drop Hope and go with a winning team. Light/Sazh/Vanille or Fang/Light/Vanille. "Operation Nora"...how can you stand that little twerp?

Unless your tolerance for crappy pop music is lower than the depths of hell, actually playing the game is distracting enough that it's not too bothersome.

Hmm... how do I fix it? I have my TV set up to force 16:9 mode.

Turn off that setting on your TV. Hop into the video settings on your PS3/360 and just set the resolution to the highest available. Forcing widescreen isn't necessary really... since all the games you're going to be playing natively support it anyhow.

Can't understand a word from what you are saying. Skipping all cutscenes and dialogues made me not know anything about the characters for the first playthru. But indeed even his little face in the character menu background annoyed me. Pretty good healer though!

Also Fang is sexy-sexy :hump Still can't beat Lulu :drool :drool

Ah you completely missed his utterly puerile "drama"...you may want to skip his cutscenes on your real playthrough ;)
Yes he's a decent healer but Vanille is more than up to that task and her debuffs are unequaled. The best team is easily Fang/Light/Vanille but that only works once you've filled out their crystariums enough that you don't miss out on buffs. I beat the game on my first playthrough using Light/Sazh/Vanille almost exclusively. Sazh gets Haste well before anyone else and even later in the game when he started to lag behind in utility I just plain liked his character enough to work around it

Can't have Sazh in my party.

Also I gotta say even though FF13 battle system is streamlined as hell there are quite a few tough fights here and there. That surprised me.

When you go through the series of Cieth stone Missions on Gran Pulse there are a number of interesting fights, even a few that demand good use of Paradigm Shifts. Storyline fights excepting the Eidolan stuff are fairly pedestrian though

Finished up Gothic 4 and started on Risen. Gothic 4 was one fine looking game, but all those pretty locales don't hide how shallow and broken that game ended up being. Despite playing on Hard, pretty much 98% of the battles can be won just by simply stunning an enemy with lightning and slashing away at it. Nearly all the quests were the typical fetch quest fair, but I did like how the main character seemed to get increasingly aggravated by having to constantly run errands. The ending was a very brief CG cutscene that was nothing more than an advertisement for the expansion pack that was supposed to come out (which I read was put on indefinite hold due to legal reasons). I still had some mild fun with it, but mainly for the scenery and the main character's bickering.

Risen so far is looking much, much better. It seems to be a nice contrast to Gothic 4 as they both share a lot of things in common, but does those things in such a way that it doesn't feel so completely dumbed down. I'm liking the vibe of the world too. It has a bit of an old fashion adventure game feel to it. Very much looking forward to putting more time with it.

The combat from those Bioware/Black Isle RPGs from the 90's was really brutal. It's complex and hard as nails, totally unforgiving. Basically, you have to treat every single battle as a boss battle and dig through each character's quirks and skills looking for the right combination to win.

I'm only 2 hours into it but combat hasn't given me any problems so far. It's not as responsive as Gothic 4's combat but at least the enemies will attempt to dodge your attacks and pose some sort of threat, unlike Gothic 4 where they're just simply mindless fodder.

It's not so much that there's a PROBLEM with combat, it's just slow and really simplistic and becomes really boring after a while. The level 10 sword skill is actually kind of fun though.
