I just did a boss fight in Bowser's Inside Story that took THIRTY MINUTES.  I could have played nearly a full game of HoN in that time. :/

I'm glad you & Admiral Viscen are giving these reports about it and making me never ever want to play it.

Otherwise I probably would have at some point.  Waste of time games ftl

I actually like the battle system quite a bit.  It is probably the best in the Mario RPG series, but the main problem is that Alpha Dream pads out fights way to much.  For the boss that took 30 minutes, he is invulnerable until you kill off the two minions and then you get a whopping two free attacks before he becomes invincible again.  Also, the minions take a minimum of two turns to kill so you can see that it eventually becomes tedious, and you get to the point where you are evading every attack so there is no danger of death, just alot of boredom.

one the DLC disc hits me and my bro quietID will be getting our BRO on in BROderlands.

Played some PS3 with him last night. Payed Pixeljunk Shooter - very cool. Uncharted 2 - lol awesome. Fricken sweet graphics. God of War 3 demo -uuughh, like looks pretty good, but battle system and distinguished mentally-challenged shit are the same as GoW1. Harpy flying? Come on. Just seems so clunky after playing Bayonetta. The brutal QTEs are awesome, but they are still just QTEs!

I need to get a PS3 I think. kind of played everything on 360. Rifled through XBLA trying to find something to play and struggled.

I'll probably get back into Tales of Vesperia today. Been playing that shit off and on for to long now

Started playing Gundam Senki 0081 again after Unicorn got me in the Gundam mood.

hmmm, this is actually a pretty good gundam game.  Who'd have thought.  The customization and AI options are awesome and the combat & graphics are pretty decent.  The only thing is that it's really HARD and because it's a robot mission game dying really fast 10 mins into a mission means redoing the whole mission from the start >_<  Would love for these games to get with the times and start adding checkpoints!

FF13 - finished the Gapra Whitewood area, stopped playing at the chapter break
Spirit Tracks - finally beat this awful awful game. Man, what a POS. Probably the worst Nintendo game since Urban Champion.
Mass Effect 2 - did the N7 missions, got the IFF, recruited the last character and did his loyalty mission, now gotta go into the Omega 4 relay and beat the game.

This weekend I will be playing nothing but FF13, apart from setting aside a block of time to beat ME2.

I remember Bowser's Inside Story getting really high marks, was thinking of giving it a try as my next DS game. Why the mixed reviews (EB hates it, a lot of other sites called it the RPG of '09).

Playing Darksiders; it really is Zelda-like, but I had my first feeling of *ugh, really, THREE SWORDS for this room?* I don't suspect there will be a logical explanation for the architect's choice to turn every room into a massive puzzle, I know it's a game, but just tossing me into the NOW DO THIS THREE TIMES track was not a thrilling prospect. It's pretty, and it makes me think at least a little, though Zelda's Ocarina puzzles felt harder... Tomb Raider: Legend's are definitely harder.

My copy of Bayonetta arrived today, but I wasn't here to pick it up.  :'(

I'm really enjoying Gundam Senki 0081.  Mr. Gundam was very right on this.  Probably the best arcade/sim Gundam games I've played.  One Year War is a better pure arcade/nostalgia game, but this game is super super sim.

Basically the game is what Front Mission Alternative wanted to be.  Super heavy customization, awesome RTS-like commands, and good mecha gameplay where you actually feel the difference between all the different parts & weapons you equip (as well as visibly see them).  It also helps the graphics are pretty solid outside the jaggies and the music is great.  Plus LOTS and LOTS of HD anime cut-ins, HD anime briefings, HD anime cutscenes.  All full voice.  Hell, it even has online play.

Too bad they didn't try to bring this to the west.  I think there's a market for something like this on the HD systems.

HL2 just kept me thoroughly interested from start to end, overall it's just a well-made game.

Played one of the AC2 tombs in a chapel or something.  I find them so annoying with the AC engine and camera - I hope they keep the Prince of Persia 'tard team away from AC3.

Downloaded the RE5 extra chapters and am getting my ass handed to me on the Jill & Josh one on veteran difficulty.

Tried playing Crysis... it looks fantastic, of course.. but I am not too crazy about the actual gameplay. The guns seem to lack "punch", for lack of a better term. Enemies just seem to soak up bullets and don't react to getting hit. I like how the game seems a bit more free-flowing than an on-rails game like COD. Maybe I'll just go through the game on easy to admire the pretty vistas.

Use your super powers and make your own play style.  The game plays kind of like MGS on a much bigger scale.  You're given these giant playgrounds with a goal and enemies spread throughout.  Make your way there through whatever means.

For me I mainly stuck with the speed power and ran through the bushes hiding and avoiding enemies.

lol, the first KH is badly designed.  It was Nomura's first time as a director and it shows.

Probably a good choice.  KH2 is a much better game, but the plot is all sorts of terrible by the end.

You should give Birth by Sleep a shot when it comes out.  Since it's a prequel it stands on its own, and as a game Nomura has been continually improving as a game designer and is actually good now and BBS shows it.

Downloaded some random XBLA demos and did some ME2 codex reading. For the demos, I played Chime (which may be worth it just for the music, even though it bites a bit too much from Lumines), Splosion Man (was kinda fun but I'm worried it might get old quickly) and Arkedo which was fucking AMAZING. Reminded me of BOMB JACK!!!

Currently playing Metro 2033 and Final Fantasy XIII.  I had low expectations for each of them (XIII due to the negative impressions and Metro due to lack of information), but they are both enjoyable.

Tried playing Crysis... it looks fantastic, of course.. but I am not too crazy about the actual gameplay. The guns seem to lack "punch", for lack of a better term. Honestly, I think this is a case of "you're doing it wrong".

Head shots will ALWAYS drop the enemies with a single round.  I found it very satisfying to play the game in a stealthy fashion utilizing the suit.  Engage clock mode as you move from cover to cover then switch to armor to recover your suit power before switching back to clock.  You can easily make your way through an entire village and kill every enemy without being spotted, if you do it right.  Just be sure to attach your silencer and you'll be good to go.  You can even you tranq darts if you'd like (you have to equip them).

As you become more comfortable with the suit powers, you can begin to utilize all of them to pull off some truly incredible feats.  There's just so many things you can do in the game.

There is definitely a learning curve involved here and the game didn't click with me immediately.  Only after you learn how to play does it genius shine through.  It seems that a lot of people believed the game to be all style and little substance, but that couldn't be further from the truth.  Honestly, I'd say Crysis is quite possibly my single favorite FPS of this generation.  It's a damn fine game.

Yeah, but you keep a "total level" which doesn't reset and every "x" amount of levels your base stats go up permanently.  There are other ways to level too.
It's complicated but you're always getting more powerful like a normal N1 game.
