Currently playing Metro 2033 and Final Fantasy XIII. I had low expectations for each of them (XIII due to the negative impressions and Metro due to lack of information), but they are both enjoyable.
Tried playing Crysis... it looks fantastic, of course.. but I am not too crazy about the actual gameplay. The guns seem to lack "punch", for lack of a better term. Enemies just seem to soak up bullets and don't react to getting hit. I like how the game seems a bit more free-flowing than an on-rails game like COD. Maybe I'll just go through the game on easy to admire the pretty vistas.
Honestly, I think this is a case of "you're doing it wrong".
Head shots will ALWAYS drop the enemies with a single round. I found it very satisfying to play the game in a stealthy fashion utilizing the suit. Engage clock mode as you move from cover to cover then switch to armor to recover your suit power before switching back to clock. You can easily make your way through an entire village and kill every enemy without being spotted, if you do it right. Just be sure to attach your silencer and you'll be good to go. You can even you tranq darts if you'd like (you have to equip them).
As you become more comfortable with the suit powers, you can begin to utilize all of them to pull off some truly incredible feats. There's just so many things you can do in the game.
There is definitely a learning curve involved here and the game didn't click with me immediately. Only after you learn how to play does it genius shine through. It seems that a lot of people believed the game to be all style and little substance, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Honestly, I'd say Crysis is quite possibly my single favorite FPS of this generation. It's a damn fine game.
