i'm playing dead space extraction...

it's not that great, but i'm only two levels in. the story has been groveled over by many journos but it seems pretty badly written to me, at least so far, and i can't help but wish that i had control over my legs or, at the very least, some minor control of the camera (outside of those free look areas).

but the video comic that's included as an extra is pretty good. which is weird, i shouldn't be enjoying a bonus more than the game, but i am.

I don't even know why, but I bought Zelda: Spirit Tracks today. I didn't like Phantom Hourglass at all, but I'm hoping ST fixes most of the problems I had with that game (from what I'm hearing it does fix all but one crucial misstep -- it's still nowhere as good as the Game Boy Zeldas!).

Popped in Torchlight for a quick spin, too. It's starting to grab me much quicker than DA:O did. Faster-paced and a heck of a lot simpler (but not to the point of being overly dumbed-down) mechanics-wise.

Weird that I've had Steam for 5yrs but never really appreciated it 'til today. I can feel a SERIOUS bout of PC zealotry coming on...

It's nuts how fast it sucks you in. I fired it up last night intending only to calibrate the graphics settings and make sure everything ran fine on my dad's shitbox computer and quickly went from, "Just gonna make sure the framerate is playable and there's no random crashes," to, "Oh shit, loot CLICKCLICKCLICK Wow awesome it's like Diablo 2.9 CLICKCLICKCLICK Well maybe I'll just do these first few quests in the mines CLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICK."

The music is crazy good, too

Been playing mostly Mushihime-sama Futari for the last couple days. I can make it up to stage 4 in 1.5 Original on a good run, but stage 3 always rapes me. My biggest weakness in shooting games is I rarely bomb, I always just try to dodge shit so I wind up having 10~ bombs go unused. smh

I also started up Uncharted 2 and played up to chapter 5. The first couple chapters kinda sucked to be honest, but it's started picking up. Chloe sucks, bring back Elena.

Yea that level was fucking garbage but supposedly you can get through it easily by placing some flashbangs at specific points.

Recently finished Uncharted 2 and it rocked. I liked AC2 more though, but maybe because it's more my kind of shit(go wild).

I'm thinking of playing ODST now, but i'm kinda on the fence, didn't like the first mission.

So how does Fallout work with the DLC stuff installed? If I complete the storyline of the main game do the credits still roll? Do I have to beat it to make the DLC available, or can I just wander over to Pittsburgh or Anchorage at any time?

Just finished STFU last night and really, really liked the ending. I'm enough of a dork that it also is great that this is "canon" Star Wars stuff, and makes me feel better about being a starwars fan after the stinkfest of the Prequel movies. Also, Vader is a fucking jerk in this, not the milquetoast "gimme a hug, Luke" Vader from Return of the Jedi.

Just finishing up some "kill NNN enemies with XXX" ability while the controls are still in my head, and going to see about finishing with the Dark Side ending, too.

I just played the first few levels of Serious Sam HD.  Never played the original and this game is really fun.  The controls are quick, the weapons have huge hit radius and feel good, and there are sooooo many enemy types.  Lots of fast action.  Totally digging it.

Would like to play coop with some EBers at some point.  I know at least FatalT and Swaggaz have it.  Will probably just try the 16p coop with randoms after I finish the campaign solo.

As demi says you can do them all whenever you want, as they're really seperate maps/storylines that don't relate to the Capitol Wasteland. Broken Steel quests are all after the main storyline is finished.

Not sure how it is at low levels though because I did mine all around level 25-30. You get some awesome gear though. :bow MAN OPENER :bow2

You do a bunch of missions for the Brotherhood after Liberty Prime is destroyed by the Enclave via Orbital strike. Then you go and rape their base with a Telsa Cannon and Orbital strike.

I'm borrowing Dragon Age Origins (Ps3 version) from a friend.

I don't think I'll be playing this for long. The characters look too ugly to continue. Their faces...OMG so fug. And there's too much boring dialogue.

I was wondering what all those "mysterious" radio signals were, but I was too busy wandering around gawking at cool shit to find out. Sweet. I'll probably do some of that soon rather than later so that there's still some quests and exploring left to use all the jizztastic new loot for.

So far I've:

-Disarmed the bomb
-Did the Blood Ties quest (probably my least favorite quest so far because of all the trekking through the tunnels, which is the one annoying thing about this game)
-Meandered all over the place looting and slaying. Encountered a few groups of hitmen including a gang of bitch-made Regulators
-Let the ghouls into Tenpenny Tower and got myself a pimp-ass Ghoul's Mask
-Talked that hopeless distinguished mentally-challenged fellow out of writing her shitty book
-Got the satellite dish for Three Dog from the Museum of Technology and had him point me in the direction of Rivet City, where I am now

I know that the map is smaller than Oblivion, but the environment and atmosphere somehow make it feel a lot more "dense", if that makes sense. Not just that, but this is the first time in a long time I've played a game that managed to be so constantly unsettling. Not overtly scary horror thrills like in Silent Hill or RE, but a subtle eerie vibe. Like stumbling across a ghost town and seeing the strung up denizens blowing in the wind, or walking into an abandoned convenience store in the middle of nowhere and seeing a GODDAMN LIT CIGARETTE ON THE COUNTER WTF. Spooky shit, man. I always feel a little on edge when I'm ransacking a building, even if I know I've cleared the place of baddies and nothing is popping up on my radar. I totally buy into the atmosphere of the game -- which is surprising, because for the most part I found the Elder Scroll games kinda dry (but still engrossing in their own right). I think this might even be better than Morrowind, but I haven't played that in forever so it's tough to say.

This was probably the perfect game to help reignite my interest in current-gen gaming. The technology totally lends to the atmosphere, and it's never pissed away on cheap frills; no pretentious narrative cutscenes that pander to distinguished mentally-challenged fellows, no look-but-can't-touch scenery, just immersion and pure awesome.

Does DMC4 count time played when you leave it in the menus? That might be why. I know NG2 does that at least. I think I grinded Heaven and Hell mode for some kills and did the rest in bloody palace.

Anyway, I'm gonna start Dragon Age (360) in a few minutes. I hope it's not as bad as you guys say :-\

also played an hour or so of REmake Wii.  Good shit.  I like pre-rendered graphics dammit.
