Torchlight is addictive for a few days, and then gets old really quick. That's how it went with me. I was glued to it for like a week, and then couldn't bring myself to fire it up shortly after. Maybe because I played a shitload of Fate in the past, and played through D2 like a month beforehand.

It's a good game especially for $15 bucks but as always happens occasionally some people will overhype things which is unfortunate. I also played a good deal of Fate which sort of blunted a lot of my enjoyment since it was so similar. It seems like a lot of people hadn't played Fate so Torchlight struck them as wildy new. If it had at least co-op multiplayer with another person I would have enjoyed it a lot more.

I really do dig the art style in it though. Really good stuff there.

Finished Bayonetta on normal.  That was a real thrill ride.

Going to start over on hard (which just got unlocked) tonight.

Q: Do the achievements like the afterburner one unlock on easy or very easy?

have your physical guy master the warrior and dancer job, this will give you a skill that will let you attack 4 times in a row at full power for no cost, this skill makes the game a lot less stressing and you will not go around screaming like a monkey after your thief learns to tell your freakin location like i did!

Agreed.  I got like 30 minutes into it.

Been playing FFX all fucking break so far.  Sure, I have a pile with Uncharted 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Dragon Age, Tekken 6, MW2, and every big name title from this fall, but NO-- I lost my motivation to play them and now I'm playing one of the most mindless and repetitive games ever :lol

I'm also considering getting a used Wii so I can play Mario Kart and NSMB

Thanks dude, I was wondering what some good class combos are good... I heard that once you get to the class change part of the game, the difficulty level SKYROCKETS. Are classes like the Mariner and Shephard any good?

holy shit, is the wii really this easy to hack?

--just put indiana pwns + homebrew channel stuff on an SD card

then after that I can play burnt games/emulators without doing anything else?

Ya, Wii hacking is easy to do.  Kinda glad as my Wii gpu is dying and I'll probably need to get another one next year.  But at least I can hack it easily and play all my games.

You dont even need Indiana Jones... use Bannerbomb if past 4.0

You can run emulators once HBC is installed but if you're running on like 4.2 then you have to do a little extra more work to get USB Loading working

Trying out Far Cry 2 on the new laptop, and it does a much better job than I anticipated. Low resolution, but it plays surprisingly well for a laptop with a "budget card."

Seems like it.

I guess the newer Wiis can't read DVD backups, so I would have to give up gamecube games on a new system (can't stream those yet without a chip.) Otherwise, this seems completely awesome.  Can't think of anything I still want to play on Gamecube anyway...maybe windwaker, but that's cheap enough to just buy anywhere.

NSMB Wii - Getting all the star coins in World 8/9, then I'm done.
FFIX - Felt like playing a FF, this was the first one I found the discs for.
WoW - Maybe. I haven't played much since a little after BC came out. I was thinking about starting a new character and getting back into it.

played Dragon Age 'til 2am. Finished off the werewolf quest and called it a night. Pretty awesome stuff. I had some trouble with the Revenants with my 3 mage/1 rogue party - they were seemingly immune to all the magic I threw at them, except one dude who was completely vulnerable to fire. Inferno took care of him in a trice. The others were sloooow battles of attrition in which seemingly nothing worked except physical attacks though. Is there some trick to figuring out what type of damage they will take, maybe?

Been doing a bunch of holiday gaming due to time off of work.

Final Fantasy V (SNES version)- Finished it for the first time just the other day. It reminded me why I liked the old series so much more than FFX's style. Difficulty, lots of classes, fast paced, a sense of exploration, multiple worlds to explore, and a cheesy simple story that doesn't rub itself in your face every second.

Dragon Age (360 version)- 35 hours in. I'm currently in the dwarf mines trying to help them pick a king. I think I've reached a lull point with this game. I've enjoyed my time with it but I'm finding myself wanting to play some faster paced RPG's at the moment.

Final Fantasy XII- Dragon Age has made me want to give this another shot. It's been a nice contrast. While Dragon Age has more interesting characters and scenarios, FFXII's world is much more enjoyable for me to explore. But goddammit why can't I change the camera controls?!?

Final Fantasy II (PSP)- First time playing this game and people seem to recommend this one over the other versions. So far it's, uh, different. Kinda like Elder Scrolls meets Final Fantasy in terms of leveling up specific actions by using them over and over again. It's been fun so far.

Street Fighter IV- Started working on my Gen again. May start working on Able next.

Starcraft- Been playing a bunch of multiplayer. It's been many years since I've last played this and am really, really rough around the edges.

1/2 Minute Hero- Simply awesome.

Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman!- Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand I really like the idea and it looks like it wants to be fun game. On the other hand it feels so random in how well you can build your army of minions. It's to the point of aggravation that I can't get the mosses to build like I want them to.  I feel like I'm missing something on how to play this. Have yet to try the sequel to see if it improves on this.

Mostly back on SF4 again.  Felt like I'd lost "it" and have been working to get my skills back up again.  Think I'm there!  Probably going to drop Sakura and go back to Cammy as my main, atlhough I still want to learn Bison or Abel.

Also tried Soul Calibur IV again briefly.  Still people playing, but it's still populated by too many distinguished mentally-challenged fellows.

I played some of the bit.trip games today.  My personal fave is beat,  but void is good too.  Gaming minalism at its finest.  However, Core is just way too hard. It feels like a game you would need to memorize where the pixels are coming in from.  Although I might give it another go when I finish up the first game.

I actually just started a game from the beginning for the first time yesterday. Shit's awesome. I think I'll go through once as a goody-goody and then after I'm done I'll start a new file on which I slaughter everyone I see.

Is there anyone I shouldn't kill? Any items I should hang on to? Any crazy OP perks?

just be a good guy, dont blow up Megaton, games a cakewalk. Focus on your repair skill to keep your weapons in top condition and so you can slap together all your looted guns so they sell for more and take up less space.

Yeah repair is one of the first things I dumped some points into so I guess I lucked out there. I saved Megaton this time around but I think next time I'm gonna pop the cowboy sheriff and nuke the place after I loot it. Seems like the main point of the Moira quests is exploration and not much else.

I need to find some new armor; I'm making my way through the tunnels now but I'm still wearing this ghetto shit from Vault 101

Did a little bit more Assassin's Creed II last night. The Animus may be the most contrived attempt to make a video game "realistic" ever. The setting is just goooooorrrrrrrrgeous though. Florence <3. This alone makes it a great change from Dragon Age.

I beat the campaign on End War for 360 (normal difficulty). It is probably the most polished console RTS that I've ever played, and the voice controls actually work perfectly. I haven't played any of the multiplayer yet, but the game is worth a play for the singleplayer at least. Its very simple, but directing your different units is satisfying.
