Whatever this new MGS thing is, it's not listed in the Weekly Famitsu TOC, so I'm guessing these are scans from the monthly Famtisu PSP+PS3 magazine.

No. He's gonna shoot himself but then he pussies out because Kojima's staff are a bunch of wilde homos and didn't want Snake to die. It's still pretty thin, but it's not like they just pulled the whole "OMG ZERO IS TEH EVIL" completely out of thin air.

Kojima also refused to confirm that Naked Snake was Big Boss in MGS3 interviews, despite it being a guy who looked like Snake in the 1960s who loses his right eye and every human on the planet having figured out it was Big Boss.

I've only played 4 hours of MGS and the MGS 3 demo and this recap makes me want to play MGS4 more than anything.
