Looks like that Bourne game, seems to play itself too so no wonder you like it. Ludlum's Splinter Cell.

Looks like something they picked up from the trash left by the AC2 devs

It's a bit like Rainbow Six Vegas for me; the game itself looks hot, but damn it, I also want a straight up sequel to Chaos Theory, not just this Bourne/Altair/R6V stuff. And his suddenly remarkable climbing abilities make no sense.

Tagging/queueing enemies so the game kills them for you?? :/
Everything else seems pretty cool.

Doesn't that SEGA/Obsidian game do something similar? But in that game, it's a special ability.

get a new shtick.

What shtick? His movements make him look like a less refined Altair paired with a squirrel.

"Many of the animations have yet to be added, so the E3 demo shows only a limited number of moves, all performed contextually. "

Guess I was spot on, as usual

I want there to be some classic SC gameplay with shadows and gadgets and stuff.  If the levels give you the option of using multiple modes of "stealth", I'm happy.  It'll make replaying it funner.

Basically all it means is that the game will set a new standard when it's done.

I don't really like it. Looks way too scripted. The graphics are sharp but uninspired and boring.

Old Sam was better.

There's still sneaking and shadows. It's just an evolved form of sneaking and shadows. Exactly as I predicted.

Alright, for some reason that looked even hotter the second time around. Very scripted, but that's nothing new for SC.

Really?

I mean, the first thing that comes to mind here is that they've finally decided to take an approach more like the Thief series.  That is, they present you with an objective buried within an area and allow you to reach the goal however you choose.  I mean, they could totally drop the ball, but it seems like a good first showing.  Some of their recent games have been TOO aimless for their own good.  This seems to bring a bit of purpose and identity to the individual missions while still retaining the possibilities of the open world.

So it's still looking scripted in this demo video, but it sounds like they are going for a more open ended up approach.

It certainly looks more Uncharted than it does Splinter Cell. But this is just an action teaser, hopefully there's more sneaking in the shadows in the actual game.

This is true. Besides, it seems to be a bit like Mirror's Edge; there are options on how to deal with confrontations, but the actual path is fairly narrow. Nothing wrong with that.

It's Splinter Cell Hitman.

They put you in a level and let you do as you please. That's why it will be awesome, scripted or not.

This looks good as well. My only hope is that the game flows well from set piece to set piece with the directions and and text in the background so you don't accidentally miss a vital piece of information if you're not looking in the right place.

And does anyone else know for sure if Mike Ironside is or isn't in this?

If it's not Ironside, their Ironside doppelganger is so accurate the point is moot.

Exactly.  This kind of scripting is actually the kind of thing Ubi's games have needed lately.  They've focused so heavily on those open world concept games yet failed to do anything with them.  Hopefully they apply some of these lessons to the next Assassin's Creed title.

After hearing Infamous and digging up Chaos Theory for another playthrough, I really hope Ubisoft collaborates with Amon Tobin on the OST for this game.

This was my game of E3.  The UI perfects what Dead Space started and it just looks like it will be a good time.  I hope the full game comes together as well as this demo.
