Metroid Other M already looks a lot more interesting then the Prime games.

Looks like losing that dead weight of that massive ego did Team Ninja some good. Beating Retro is hardly a remarkable feat, though.

What is there to like about this? No puzzles, no atmosphere, not even really the same art style. I don't mind if they change the perspective or the combat but this looks like shit.

well they don't show any puzzles or platforming or any other gameplay feature that's been really important in any Metroid game.

In fact, nobody would even think that this is a Metroid game if it wasn't for the few seconds that you see Samus' armor. Even the style and the music is totally different for some reason.

Maybe it'll actually turn out decent but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Really? What I saw in the trailer:

-much faster paced Metroid. This is very welcome since the Prime games feels slow and sluggish
-the little I saw the 3rd person perspective looks great
-trailer music was very moody and nice
-sakamoto is involved in this project, i trust him

It's understandable why the Prime games turned a lot of people off but how the fuck does this look "moody". Did you actually like any of the old Metroid games?

I avoided the prime games like the plauge after being bored to death by the first. First interesting Metroid game that isn't on a handheld since Super Metroid.

Retro is Nintendo. They are a wholly-owned subsidiary operating under the direct and complete control of Nintendo executives. At no time can they act independently of Nintendo or in any way move away from their parent-company. Retro is on the same level as EAD and Intelligent Systems.
