I got to play as Drake and fucking led my group. These guys were dying all the time, but I was meleeing those armored dudes while reviving them and shit.

Damn, that was pretty awesome! Not sure about competitive, but co-op was all sorts of fun. Felt like a single player game, but with human team mates. Or something. Damned good.

Although, they should damned well make co-op inaccessible to people without mics. Competitive? Fine, don't talk. But it's a damned necessity in co-op.

quite laggy in competitive for me...takes seconds to pick up weapon sometimes, also i've seen many kills register like 10 seconds after the fact. really poor net code

it's weird because co-op works flawlessly...the weapons pick up fast and there's little to no lag at all.

they gotta improve competitive netcode

What you don't need a mic for co op. Me and FatalT had our mics but all we did was laugh at how he was the bitch every time and just spammed the X button while he blew kisses and I laughed with no audio.

Competitive multiplayer is pretty standard. Nothing offensive, but nothing awesome.

Going to try some co-op now.

edit: Well it's certainly Uncharted. Cover system is a bit iffy however the shooting is much more satisfying. It's still pretty paint by the numbers but good fun.

I just did a deathmatch game and really enjoyed it. It's standard fare, sure, but the way you can move and climb up on top of stuff is just awesome, as are the take downs when you melee someone from behind. It felt like Metal Gear Online done right. I'm chalking this up to it being a beta, but I really hope they get more sound in there! Frankly just that one game alone was far more enjoyable than anything I played of Resistance 2 and Killzone 2.

Wanted to try out co-op, but after that first match, it wouldn't connect to any games. $:-\$

3-player co-op is really cool, as long as you play alongside people who understand the meaning of cooperative.

I didn't have to wait very long for a co-op game to start, it usually takes about 4-5 minutes for the system to find a couple other people.

One thing I can say for sure, the game feels a lot more solid this time around. Vertical sync is enabled, characters have a greater sense of weight in their movements, an animation is a lot less floaty. Very impressive.

I played a few rounds of standard TDM on the night time map and had some fun, that other map is horrendous though. Can't see shit. The multiplayer seems decent enough, if uninspired.

I'll probably try co-op today.

Played some co-op. Like it so far, but the animation/platforming feels weightless/floaty. Needs rumble or something else. Hard to get a feel of it, needs more chaos, want to feel like I'm in it.

The thing that would clinch this for me is if they ripped off the 'down/revive' format of Gears. I can't think of a single game that does and I have no idea why. Well, Killzone sort of.

Had a weird glitch last night where the camera wouldn't stop looking up. Quit out of the game and came back in, and the same problem from before where it wouldn't find any games started up again. $:-\$ The game's fun while it lasts though. I was at level 2 and kept killing this kid who was level 9. He kept whining and accusing me of cheating every time I melee'd him.
