this medical place we support is a disaster. to reset passwords for their internal document manager we have to go through five password reset sections and it ends with logging into a fucking unix command window. i don't think i could have conceived a process more convoluted that it already is.

). Didn't really talk too much to her, nor did I try for a #... but at least I went up to her. I will try conversing with her a bit more next time maybe eventually asking her out.

I'm disappointed with the results. But the poor results can be explained by the fact that I diluted the acid with too much water, lowering its strength.

Are you seeing any positive results at all that aren't "within the margin of error" (i.e. could be because of lighting, your imagination, etc.)? Reading threads on acne.org with such a high proportion of messages like yours to success stories (whether for expensive professional treatments, cheap dangerous DIY treatments, or anything in between) is what made me inclined not to bother with scar treatments, at least until there's better tech available.

Some of the minor discoloration faded and some fine wrinkles were reduced (like I care).

It makes sense that people would see varying results because the the strength of the acid varies. I used 20% strength.

I'm just skeptical of the whole "intentionally damage your skin and let it heal" approach that all the treatments seem to take. Why should I expect it to heal any more nicely than it originally did?

It depends on how deep the damage is and how deep the acid penetrates. The acid probably has to go deep into the dermis--and that might cause scaring (obviously counter-productive). If it's a fairly superficial peel, as mine was, it's not going to help much.
