I've always been shy, which didn't translate well towards talking to chicks. But after you get comfortable doing it, it becomes easy. I hate group projects but in hindsight they really helped me with women. I'd ask questions, talk, etc with the girls in my group with ease. Then I'd talk to chicks in other groups, just asking them how they were doing certain things or whatever. Worked perfectly. If I have something to say, I can say it. If I don't I'm not going to force the issue with bullshit ("lol the weather sure is good today...")

157 represent.  I'm in the gutter, but I'm looking at the stars!  I just got an email today saying I got into a select IP+lawyering skills combo course for first semester though, so I guess they were impressed with other parts of my transcript and resume.  

this shit starts in three weeks, but I feel pretty damn ready (one of the few times in my life I've been able to say that honestly.)  been working at a firm for about a year, reading tons of cases, learning a lot, meeting people, drafting documents...and also reading Law School Confidential and getting my studying/briefing technique down.  hopefully that all pays off.  

now if only this whole "oversaturated and plummeting legal market" thing would clear itself up so I'm actually in some demand, as opposed to begging the lawyers I know for work and references.

I just had the most bizarre episode.

 - 9 years ago I worked with a girl for about a year before she left that firm.  She had a crush on me and I wasn't interested, telling her as much.  So she developed a crush on the next guy in the office instead, who also wasn't interested.  I was always nice to her and didn't have a problem with her other than the fact she was mentally unstable and fragile which meant you had to be careful what you say.

 - I've met her only three or four times since then.

 - last night I go to a seminar with my boss.  I sit down, then my boss sees this particular girl and says hello, and I say hello too, having not noticed her yet because she's sitting in a corner with her head down.  She's in some weird mood so we don't talk to her anymore.

 - she writes an email to my boss just now to the effect of "sorry I wasn't in a good mood last night, Chris (that's me) has fobbed me off and ignored me on the last four occasions we've been at the same place (probably these seminars which I go to every month).  I was waiting to see if he would ignore me again last night and he did.  He only spoke to me because you did.  I don't have time for people like that etc etc".

The truth is I didn't see you at the seminars you goddamn psycho bitch!  Maybe if you see me you could try saying hello like a normal person does?  This bitch is married so I'm in no danger, but it's still fucking annoying to be the subject of some bizarre social experiment.

I'm going to be ignoring the whole thing and will say hello if I see her in future.  I'm not going to provide fuel to this imaginary world she lives in.

And ftr, this is confirmation that many things have been done including, but not limited to, the aformentioned sex.    Neither of us has been getting much sleep these last few days.  Either staying at her place or mine.  We are getting more efficient though!  First night we got NO SLEEP after 6 hours of fun, then it was 3 hours of sleep, then got about 5-6 hours this morning.    I had a lot of fun in san diego with her and she's really growing on me, which makes me happy cause I'd feel like a dick otherwise.  We are cooking together tomorrow!  She's a good cook and I'm a total amateur so I'm looking forward to good eats.  Spending tonight apart cause I need to catch up on sleep.
