I managed to get firstname.lastname, thankfully (probably should have searched for firstnamelastname with no dot, but it wasn't in the suggestion list, so I assume it was taken). Didn't wanna get cute about it with funny/clever names, since it says you'll be unable to edit it once chosen. What's the big deal about this, though? So you can more easily have people find you? Like it's really hard to do a local search with a person's full name. Usually you only have to wade through a page or two of results, if that.

I decided to go for justinmg (first name + middle/last initials) as opposed to having my full name, but that was pretty much as original as I was going to get. Regardless, this is pretty stupid anyway. As far as I can tell, the username is only used for facebook.com/username, and isn't anywhere else on the site. Seems pretty pointless.
