What is your wife getting her graduate degree in, GilloD?
Poli Sci, concentration in Community Development.
Yeah, I mean. I am bailing. This is bullshit. But I'm also rock 'n hard place- Jobs are scarce and I don't having the savings to walk. Korea should work out okay, and I'm talking with some folks about doing a long internship on a farm afterwards, which is what I have ALWAYS wanted to do and should have done in the first place, I guess. We have some friends doing relief work in South America and for 40 bucks a WEEK, you get 3 squares and room&board and you gett o volunteer at the orphanage, so I'll do that for awhile.
Then who knows? No more of this shit, taht is for certain. I've always wanted to end up in some kind of Urban Ag. advocacy thing? I don't know, really.
Anyway. If ti weren't for this ERP, this process would have been a snap. But like. Today it was like "I ONLY ACCEPT PROPRIETARY 3 CHARACTER CODES FOR SHIPPING" and so I wrangled the e-commerce software to send "GND" for ground shipping instead of "UPS Ground", which makes more sense, but whatever. And then I send it to the ERP and it's like "GND? WTF is this lol i;m so crazy" and so I spend 5 hours chasing down the problem because there's no fucking manual. So now it takes like 2 letters and a digit and when it passes them to the middleware I wrote because it's export data sucked so fucking bad, now the middleware has to take the additional step of interpolating that useless 3 digit mess from the ERP into something usable for the warehouse and fucking UGH.
Anyway- Haha. No one else came in the weekend! I'm the only one here! Because I'm a pushover! Not really. Sort of? It's just my feeling that. If you tell a man you'll do a job, you should do that job. To try and twist his arm to get extra money out of him because you have the upper hand is. Unkind and un-Christian (Yech. I sound so weird when I say that) and it's just one of those things that like. I studied a lot of Marxist Lit in college and I'm down with the cause and into workers rights and all, but I told the man I'd do a job and I'll do it. A dude's gotta stick by his word, not demand more dough when it goes down wrong. I dunno.
