Windows Update broke IE - help me out here
« on: June 14, 2009, 03:15:36 PM »
I was running IE7 and today Windows Update offered to install IE8.
So I went along with the update and now it refuses to run IE7 and it gives an error when I try to install IE8, saying a newer version is already installed.

Now IE7 and IE8 won't work and there is no option to uninstall IE so I can reinstall it.

Help?

when you click add/remove programs and it pops up, look to the bar at the left and click "add/remove windows components" because thats what IE is considered to be and where you can remove it

BE SURE to unclick the other things you dont want removed along with ie

I'm already using FF, but I need IE for decent webmail support.
