Nothing at all. Weak week.

You can't really expect much out of Japan anymore.  They're pretty much :X until next-gen.

Oh, you guys are always so positive!   :lol

There's hasn't been any kind of decrease in the amount of "hardcore" games out there.  Hell, one of the niche genres, fighting games, made a huge comeback last year (and it has continued this year).  There also seems to be no shortage of 2D SHMUPS either.

Cool, they're releasing the Clannad side story on the 360.

i really don't see next gen being any better to be quite honest, in fact, i think it'll be even worse.

Japan - gaming cryogenically frozen at 2004 levels for the rest of time (with the odd anomily here and there)

They have to rebound at some point after a miracle occurs and a company figures out a successful business model that isn't DS game or MH-style PSP game.

Besides safish sequels from the big publishers I don't think Japanese gaming is creatively bankrupt.  Its just that the cool new games aren't exhibiting legs in the sales charts and alot of them will never be localised. Wasn't the last two new ips that sold O K Valkyria Chronicles and Demon Souls?

Like, I don't know why we're praising Western Developers here?  Is it for superficial reasons like tech?  Because every other new game announced involves firearms.  Just walk through a 360 section and see how many games have a gun on the box.

The Ifrit Nahato on the first page is a pretty nice design.  The rest are meh-ish.

No, the game will suck.  It's basically Target in Sight 2.  :-\
