Looks pretty awesome, but I'll wait until August and pick this up in the Broken Steel/Point Lookout two-pack.

You know, the best thing about Fallout 3 is I can play the game and go "Holy shit, Ive been there!"

Yup, I was in DC this past week, my first time in a while, and I had a lot of Fallout 3 flashbacks. Had a great time there (even though I was down there for my job), now I crave more FO3.

Where is Point Lookout based on? Annapolis?

It's based on the Point Lookout State Park area, which is located on the southern tip of Maryland.

I'll wait until the alien mothership dlc comes out and get them both at once. This one looks pretty nifty though!

Bring me up to speed on Fallout 3 PC, please.  I was planning on getting that version whenever I get a new computer...should I just forget about it and get the 360 version (I'll just wait for a GOTY version with all the DLC) instead?  I wanted to make use of all the mods, particularly the ones that make the game look less ugly.

There's some still-unresolved issues with DLC for the PC version. It's not impossible to get the DLC working, but most people will have to jump through a few hoops first, thanks to Microsoft's stupid Games for Windows service. One of the issues is that if you have Fallout 3 on a drive other than C, you have to physically locate the downloaded files on C drive and then move them over to the drive that Fallout 3 is installed on.

Definitely get the PC version, though. Fan mods make it more than worth the periodic headache involved with the DLC.

I've played The Pitt so far and, although it's only about 3-4 hours of stuff, the ruined Pittsburgh area is pretty awesome.

Which you can do with the GOTY version. Get rid of your copy right now and get a different game to tide you over.

Trade in my game for $30, spend an addition $20 or so out of pocket for another game and then $60 for Fallout again?  That doesn't make sense.

Think I'm gonna wait on this one and Mothership Zeta.  After 150 hrs I'm a little burned out on Fallout 3.  I'll probably just pick up the GOTY version later this year and start over with a whole new character.

Hey, it's you.

You should pay for it, totally. Fund the next ELDER SCROLLS GAME!

I probably will. Since these two new ones combined are $20, I guess I can get a $20 card or whatever bullshit number it is and call it a day. It's hilariously sad to log into Games for Windows Live dashboard and see 3 demos and 1 game with DLC in a horrible interface.

Played a bit of this tonight... so far, I like it and think it may have the potential to be the best of the expansions. Keep in mind I haven't done much, just explored a bit of the area.

Let's see, so far:

-There are a bunch of locations for you to discover, and the world map feels larger and more freeform than the other expansions, almost like a mini Wasteland
-The beachside town/swamp setting is pretty cool
-There seems to be a bit more background story in this one, and already I feel there is some mystery. Hopefully this doesn't end like the Pitt, which had a rather disappointing finale
-Quite a few new enemies to fight, kind of like super mutants crossed with rednecks
-A quick glance at the wiki shows quite a few mini-quests in addition to the main 3

Wow, the
spoiler (click to show/hide)
trip-out scene when you met the Punga Tree
[close]
was pretty cool.

I'm really liking this pack, did 2 of the main missions, nearly all of the side missions, and discovered all the locations. So I will wrap this up probably tomorrow. Probably my favorite out of all the expansions, it's more focused on exploring the world than looting through dungeons, and there's a great variety of enemies (those hilbillies and the ghoul reavers are really hard).

yeah I just finished it too. It was probably the best Fallout expansion, really liked the geography and setting, and loved getting the exploring achievement.

The finale was absolute poop though (but hey its Fallout 3, Im used to that)

anyhow I now have 1450/1450 :rock
