I HATE when people edit their post to quote a post after theirs.  I fucking hate that.

Not only is it rude to the quoted poster (because it blows their load before readers get to their post), but it's annoying to read because you scroll back up convinced you missed the quoted post and wonder what else you missed. 

Twats.  Thank god we don't do that here.

Ugh I know right? I used to scroll back up and a page back to try to find the quoted post and then ending up finding it just one post below it. Pissed me off so much. I guess people do it because they are AFRAID to post twice in a short time.

Why don't you expect atheists in a thread about religion? Religious people make claims that atheists clearly disagree with. Do people have the same expectations about non-libertarians staying away from threads about libertarianism? Or conservatives staying away from threads about liberalism? Why should religion be shielded from criticism, questioning, and even mocking?

People are emotional creatures, so in real life you can't always be as blunt with them. You can't bluntly tell them that they're wrong, or full of shit, or have no clue what they're talking about. Why should this type of tact, tact used to maintain social relationships, be brought to the internet?

People criticize the former type of atheist all the time.

Obviously an atheist has little reason to participate in such a recipe thread, and a non-autistic atheist would understand nobody wants to debate religious topics.
