I want to root for a team before the World Cup (so its not total bandwagon). I think I'ma go with Spain (even though they lost). I used to be a fan of Italy but all the flopping and dirty plays last World Cup turned me off to them (obviously, I'm not a "lifelong"). I remember digging Spain though. My cousin is a huge fan of Mexico.

Pretty much. I was all about France from the jump last time though. Heartbreak.  :'(

I never really pay much attention to world soccer until a few months before the cup though, then I watch pretty much everything I can find. I guess US is in pretty good shape to qualify ya? Or is it too soon for those calls?

Only problem now is that unless we win with at least 3 or 4 goals, we'll never hear the end of the whining, moaning and bitching from Brazil fans about this game was tainted by poor officiating and how the US really didn't win.

Who cares? LOL

I don't even know it went completely in. I'm not an expert of soccer rules, but doesn't the entire ball have to be in? And the only camera shots they showed were from an inverted angle where it could look in even if it wasn't past the line. There needs to be a camera right down the line to really tell.

Yeah, well, when you're losing you'll say anything to discredit it. Now that they're winning it's all good again.

We played our asses off in that first half, but we're a completely different team in the second.

Can't say I'm a fan of soccer so tis not a huge deal to me, but would have liked to see the US win in anything, its kind of like the Olympics. Funny thing is, even if the US did, it would be a sidenote tomorrow, on the 2nd page of the sports page in every newspaper. Now maybe its on the 6th page. They played well for a team that wasn't even supposed to be there as I understand. Didn't some fluke Italy game score work out perfectly for them to get in?

I know Soccer doesn't care, but if they allow those stupid fucking horns in the World Cup I won't watch a minute of it.

Good LORD that's fucking annoying.  But I guess it makes sense, they are soccer fans after all.

Cheap shots aside, it was an exciting match today but so disappointing.  I'm kinda glad we didn't score to tie or anything because the refs clearly missed a goal for BRA and it would have sucked listening to the 'victory' get discredited because the refs can't do their job.  That said, fantastic effort by the US and it bodes well for next year to compete on that stage with BRA.

Awesome match!! Great comeback from Brazil I was very impressed by them in this tournament  :)

I didn't expect the U.S. to have such a strong first half. I was very impressed by them, but in the end they didn't have enough weapons, and I felt like they got a bit lucky in the beginning, and they needed it, because once Brazil started to get their rhytm back there was no stopping their offence.

Hopefully Brazil will win the WC next year and I will forgive them for that aweful display in the last WC.  ;)
