NFS: Most Wanted on PS2

I got this game recently and the framerate is so choppy/low/shit. I only played for a bit but it didn't grab me as much as NFS Underground. Really liked that game.

I could have bought NFS: Underground 2 or this game. I went for this one to check it out. Now I'm thinking of going back and trading it for NFSU2. Can anyone tell if the sequel is just as good if not better than the original?

Underground 2 is like Most Wanted in that it's an open world game, but I think that there were a couple modes that Most Wanted actually cut out like drifting or drag racing or something.  I liked the visual style of Underground 2 more personally.

I don't really remember any framerate problems on PS2 but it's been a few years since I've played it.

Get the X360 or PC versions of Most Wanted. None of that last-gen stuff...

Yeah I loved how slick Underground looked in comparison to this ugly game. Could the reason for the visuals being so shitty be that this game was mainly developed for the next gen consoles then ported to the PS2?

I'm still retro. Didn't get any next gen consoles yet.
