Faget Fighting Freaks: what are some good pads/sticks for 360?

thread title SAYS IT ALL.

I got Garou MOW on xbla and its great and all, but Im playing it with my official 360 pad Ive had since I bought a 360. I dont have a second controller. The d-pad is horrible and the left stick sticks up a bit so my character just wont stop jumping sometimes. As you can tell my ability to play the game is affected. And when I have guests over we always play Wii becuase I only have one xbox control!

Whats a good all purpose pad? I heard Hori pads were the best a few years ago, is that still true? I was thikning about splashing out and getting a stick but theres only a couple of games I have that it would work with so it may be a waste (I am thinking of getting into more fighters though!). A local comic/card/hobby shop has a couple of the DOA4 Hori sticks, are they any good? Im no stranger to ordering shit off Play-Asia if I need to either.

Any input/suggestions will be appreciated

I don't use sticks, but the pads I've listed are great judging from my experience.

New shipment from Hori USA will be hitting US retailers around July 7-15th. If you wait until amazon gets it in, they offer free shipping.

If you aren't planning to go crazy with fighters/shmps, a midrange stick like the DOA ones will probably be fine. I've heard that the build quality is relatively poor on those, and they won't last long (usually buttons failing) if you do put any real stress on them.

Pads: You have one option, which is Mad Katz' Street Fighter IV pad.  It works pretty good and is what I have use when I want to play 360 fighters with a pad.  It's got six buttons on the face and that alone makes it 10 times better than any other pad you can get.

Sticks: Depends on the quality you want.  The better the stick, the higher the price!  Hori is generally regarded as kinda shitty, but if you can get one cheap enough, it's fine to start out with.

I want to swtich to a stick, but I am still waiting to see if someone will ever make a universal stick that is compatible with all three systems.  Really it's just a problem for the 360, since you can get PS2 controller adaptors for PS3 and Wii (Game Cube). 

Also remember that you can use 360 controllers on PC, so get to emulatin' and try out some more fighters!  KOF '98 Ultimate Match is, in my opinion, one of the best fighters ever made.  And yes, it tops Garou.  Not in animation, but in everything else.

Yeah I saw I Street Figher IV stick but it was a whopping $400... not really willing to spend that much!

Fuck the pad is cheapest at Amazon but they aint shipping outside the US. I'll have to take it in the shorts at Play-Asia for 60 USD. I'll buy it and SF4 next week (payday)

The Mad Catz pad is pretty good but for some reason I have a bit of trouble hitting the up-left diagonal... I'll always jump straight up instead. I've only used it for SF4, so far, need to give it a try on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection and Ikaruga.

Amazon has the SF4 TE stick for both 360 and PS3 for $150. It's worth every penny!
