The Louvre, if you're interested in art at all, would be my first pick. Out of town, the castles Chambord, and Chenonceau are cool if you like medieval architecture, and Versailles is great just to see the utter opulence and gaudiness of the former French monarchy. Notre Dame isn't bad but I'm not really big into cathedrals.

I suggest you stay away from the Parisians.

The Louvre is really awesome if you want to see old European art.  The arc de triumph and the champs-elysee are kinda BS tourist attractions really though so don't set your expectations very high for those.  The Eiffel Tower is cool but there's really not that many different things that I liked about Paris' tourist shit.

BTW, I unknowingly went on Bastille Day (July 14) and that's probably the best day to visit the city.  There's a fireworks show shot out of the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre admission is free.  I think the best thing to do though is to spread your trip among many countries.  Italy has a lot of great stuff to see of course.

PS: The Mona Lisa exhibit was like a can of sardines in a gay guy's ass the day I went.  It was a pretty underwhelming painting in person tbh.

Actually, when I went to Paris during my junior year of HS, the one thing I remembered most from the trip wasn't seeing the Mona Lisa, the Arc de Triomphe, Versailles, Notre Dame, etc... it was when a high school let off, and I saw tons and tons of slender, pretty blonde girls. It was like a dream come true.

Since you are only going for two days, Versailles is kind of out of the question, because it pretty much takes a day. Goddamn is Versailles awesome.

If you've never been before, I'd recommend one day for the landmarks (Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame/Ile de la Cite, Arc de Triomphe/Champs Elysees, Place de la Concorde), and one day to just tool around the city. In particular, go to Montmartre and hit up at least the hill that Sacre Couer is on. Drink in a cafe and chill out. If you do go to the hill, go to the church entrance, but don't turn around until you get there. It's spectacular.

Also, since you are on short time, skip the Louvre/D'Orsee/Pompidou.

Don't go to the Louvre if you're only there for 2 days. It's way too big.
Go to the Saint Chapelle, it's the most beautiful church I've ever seen, it's small too and not as well known as the big Paris landmarks.

So for 99% I'm gonna fly with AirFrance.

I hope they don't use Airbuses lol.

Of course they do. It's the mainstay of their fleet. But they are very unlikely to use a shitty old A310 like the Yemenia one that crashed outside the Comores. Also you won't be going on an A330, like the one that crashed over brazil. I'd venture a guess that if you're going with AF, you're going to be on a BAE 146 or an Airbus A319. Have you booked your trip yet? Once you get your amadeus number you can check your itinerary including aircraft designation on CheckMyTrip.

If you want to avoid AF but land on CDG, seems you can pay a little bit more and go with Lufthansa via DUS instead. That would put you in a Canadair CRJ or a B737, so Airbus free if you are that paranoid. huahua

Only 3 weeks till we're there :hyper :hyper :hyper

So far the plan looks like this:

1st day (evening only) - Pyramid du Louvre + ???
2nd day (full) - Eiffel Tower + Notre Dame + Champs-Elysees
3rd day (morning only) - Pompidou + ???

Replace the first ??? with "drinks in the latin quarter."
Replace the second ??? with "missing our plane."
