Ghostbusters appreciation thread
« on: July 01, 2009, 09:36:01 PM »
Watched both of them yesterday and today. Ghostbusters I is a classic obviously, I think II gets bashed a little unfairly. Some stupidity, but a decent sequel. Also news coming out that Sigorney Weaver won't be in Ghostbuster III which is due to be filmed at the end of the year.

Also, who can hate on the 80's movie oriented R&B stylings of Bobby Brown:

I've been meaning to re-watch the original Ghostbusters, but to my memory the sequel is a cesspit that relied on ectoplasm/poop jokes and that one guy's "funny" accent. The original is one of my favorite films ever, though.

:bow GHOSTBUSTERS I + THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS + GHOSTBUSTERS: THE VIDEOGAME :bow

I remember my dad and my older sister taking me to see the first movie on opening day. I then remember my dad taking me to see Ghostbusters II on opening day. I think that was the first time in my life where I was disappointed in a film.

The first one has some of the worst canvas paintings ever at the end. Makes it neigh unwatchable.

I don't know, if my city was spiraling into Hell and I looked down the street to see a giant statue of liberty coming to kick some ass, I think I might get a little pumped up.

It was such a contrived "well how can we outdo STAY-PUFT for the sequel"

I just saw the movies for the first time a week or two ago. They're a lot of fun and I loved the first movie. Second was alright, still good, but the first is definitely much stronger. I now can't wait for Ghostbusters III.

I don't really care?  But the rest of the movie was also quite shitty.
