Burger King getting heat over "suggestive" ad campaign
« on: July 06, 2009, 04:27:46 PM »

"This is really straining to be dirty," Miller told FOXNews.com. "This is objectionable because it's outrageously exaggerating the pleasure of Burger King. It's not that good, even as food, and therefore nowhere near as gratifying as an orgasm. There's no doubt they intended a double entrendre."  :lol

It's funny because he went out of his way to point out that an ad campaign is exaggerating (no shit Sherlock), then compared it to an orgasm.  :lol

But in this analogy, wouldn't the sandwich be the one getting the orgasm?  And who knows how much sandwiches enjoy being eaten?  Unless you've been a sandwich, you have no access to its qualitative experience.

Yes, but the sandwich is 'entering' you, therefore you are receiving pleasure from the consumption of the sandwich. Therefore, the ad campaign is henceforth providing you with a qualitative experience comparable to sexual stimulation.

I don't see the justification for this inference step.  It's definitely not the case that every occurrence of an object entering a person will necessarily provide pleasure to him or her.  I could give counterexamples.

Does it bother anybody else that the woman looks like a blow-up doll? Or is that the point?

I don't see anything suggestive about that ad. FOX journalists and representatives have dirty minds. Which is why all their female anchors look like pornstars.

The inference is related specifically to said subject, not all occurances of objects entering an individual.

If they bring The King mask back, we can be talking about some seriously warped sexual scenarios.
