Kind of. I'm involved in a few projects, hopefully a few will pan out.
I have a couple of friends that are shooting a "pilot" of sorts in Los Angeles in a week and a half - the cast and crew are all set, but there is one role left they are trying to fill with a name actor. They have A, B and (a surefire) C option. If A or B are landed, I will let you guys know. I just did some minor script tweaking for the "pilot" script, but if it gets picked up, I have at least one episode (of sorts) that will be entirely mine. It's the most professional production I've ever been involved in, but the city of Los Angeles has been dicking them around in costs, so it's unanimous that they will
not be shooting there if this thing is picked up.
I also wrote a short, which I think will play well to guys like you, and asked another industry pal to come out to the D.C. area to shoot and direct it. He likes the concept, but bringing out his gear and taking time off of shooting commercials is a costly endeavor, so there's a handshake agreement that I am
not happy with. He will direct and produce my short on the condition that I take an on-camera role for a film he's shooting this fall.
I will probably agree to it just so I can have him shoot what I want to shoot, but I'm not an actor. The concensus is that since the character is a fat, sarcastic (somewhat boisterous) manager of a "Pizza Shack", that I am perfect for him. If that doesn't cement as Jonah Hill, though, I don't know what will.
