Castle Crashers is awesome and is the best brawler ever

if you ignore the stupid online shit that they can't seem to get straight. 

thankfully, there are people who are not on xbox live who can also play video games, sometimes referred to as "friends."
but really, this is like looking at disney porn for the first time-- it's the same wrapper for that thing you enjoyed as child, but wrapped in a modern and more adult context, so that it doesn't feel nostalgic or childish.

All that aside, the weapons, animals, the feel, the art style, animation, music...everything is pretty much dead-on.  Maybe some varied animations for different weapons would help, but for brawlers, it's the equivalent of discovering cold fusion compared to the final fight/double dragon days when a punch had two frames.  Since it has all the modern updates like saving, tons of characters, and tons of levels, it's way above the coveted D+D capcom brawlers and the Punisher (though those are still great today.)

I don't know why I let this sit on my HDD for a year before busting it out after people get bored of Rock Band.  Best 1200 points you can spend on XBL.  Now bring the hate, bore.

They patched a while ago. Online works fine for me. Then again, I never had any problems with playing online before the patch either...

So happy I wasn't drinking anything when I read that analogy. Now I've got inappropriate visions of Snow White and the dwarves in my head.

I love, love, love the Behemoth's aesthetic sense. I really wanted to like Alien Hominid. I mean, I like it a lot, but I suck at it really, really badly. I've not even made the time to finish it on Easy. I've even got some free tracks by Synj on my iPod that get pretty frequent play.

Even so, I've been unable to justify dropping my hard-to-come-by MS Marketplace points on this with so many other full retail titles in my stacked queue. What is it that's so compelling to you, der Kranzer?

I'd suggest using Castle Crashers to break up a game like Fallout 3 or Oblvion and it'll give you something to relax with.

i've given up on lists, i bought UFC and i've not played it once, where as my brother in law has put hours into it... on my copy :/

Sorry to hear you haven't logged any UFC time yet. If you're feeling iffy on the control scheme, I'll happily offer you a clinic on how to get through it -- though the game's tutorial is honestly pretty thorough (if dry), and has its own 25 pt. 'cheev.

Just remembered, I've also got Pac-Man CE, Bionic Commando: Rearmed, and  N+ on XBLA. Pac-Man was a Cormacaroni-cajole induced purchase, though I have to admit he's not wrong. It's fabulous.

It's just like TMNT, Final Fight, X-men, Punisher, Double Dragon, etc. etc. but a hell of a lot better.  Check out the demo, though it probably won't have the awesome parts.   There are a ton of different enemies, bunch of unlockable characters, weapons, animal helpers, etc.  It's also short and highly replayable, which I like. 

I had the game on my HDD for like a year and never played it because of all the retail releases, but I'm regretting not playing it sooner!

the only thing I didn't like about Castle Crashers (well, other than the netcode) was that it was a lot more picky about being matched up vertically with the enemy than other brawlers.  I don't know if it's the best, but it's a lot of fun.
