The Darkness 2 in development

Here's a great indicator of how slowly the wheels can occasionally turn. During Top Cow Productions' Comic-Con panel, head of the comic publisher, Marc Silvestri, was finally able to announce that a follow-up to The Darkness (based on the Top Cow IP) was in the works. We're not surprised if the news has a familiar ring to it: The company hinted at a sequel during the 2008 NYCC ... 15 months ago.

In more immediate news, the company announced that the original game would soon be added to the greatest hits value line-up on PS3 and Xbox for $29.99. If you haven't already checked it out, it's an interesting recommendation, if only to prepare yourself for the sequel that may finally be coming.

oh boy. the one game everybody hoped would get a sequel. yay. and it's going to see a price hike. double yay.

i really didn't enjoy Darkness 1.  Starbreeze has great atmospheric "walking around and talking to people" sections in their games, but the gunplay is all fucked up.

Maybe this will be one of a ton of games this gen that gets it right for the sequel.

You can get the original game for like $5 at Gamestop, why would you want to buy the Greatest Hits version for $30?

The ending was hilarious; they just gave up trying to make a game and took the control away from you.

I got to the first Hell section, got my head shot from off screen when nobody was around about 20 times and said fuck it.  Even when I tried to find the guy, the draw distance was so bad that it was too late by the time I noticed where the shots were coming from.  On top of that, I seem to remember the hell enemies being bullet sponges with no stun animations.  All that cool atmosphere was gone and I was getting killed like it was a COD game, but without the awesome.

Starbreeze isn't the developer btw, they're working on two EA games. Maybe this game will be good after all!

there is hope, yay!

Was starbreeze ever confirmed to be working on syndicate 3?

EA hasn't come out and confirmed it yet.

Their other game is supposed to be a game based on Jason Bourne.
