Jimmy Fallon sucks, Passion Pit is better live than on TV
« on: July 30, 2009, 02:22:03 PM »
So, I saw Passion Pit live at the beginning of June, and they basically kicked my ass all over the place. After the show I nearly passed out from dehydration because I danced my ass off. It didn't help that the venue was cramped and over 1000 degrees because of how many people were crammed in there. Their encore was the Reeling which was possibly the most energetic song out of the entire set. I was actually impressed by how close to the album the entire set sounded.

I heard that Passion Pit was going to be on Jimmy Fallon, and I had just found my HD antenna. Now that I'm living in Richmond I actually get good HD reception so I hooked that fucker up. My girlfriend actually possesses some of the old style vacuum tube speakers and those are currently hooked up to my TV, sadly, no Dolby Digital for the moment, but whatever. The current setup also utilizes an independent subwoofer, so I was ready for Passion Pit to kick some ass on national television. It was a win win, there was no way they would be lame considering I just saw them and they were so kickass. I was wrong.

First of all, Jimmy Fallon isn't fucking funny. Sweet god, someone take him off the air. It was torture seeing him try to be funny. It reminded me of all the times he fucked up on SNL. Second of all, Michael Angelakos, who is the lead singer/keyboardist for the band DIDN'T HAVE HIS FUCKING KEYBOARD. His entire fucking keyboard track was of course totally taken out of The Reeling, which was performed. VERY LAME. I was pretty disappointed. My girlfriend and her sisters who went to see Passion Pit all said the same thing. Pretty disappointing from a band I like so much that they are currently the ringtone on my phone.

Do all live TV performances suck?  Fuck.
