I thought that was an awesome entrance.  Put a huge smile on my face.

My view is this:

It's their wedding, let them do whatever the fuck they want that makes them happy, and fuck the haters.

Beats having a cookie-cutter wedding that's the same as everyone else's.

I saw this on some news site, saying it was amazing/funny/inventive/etc. Meh, I don't "get" it, at all. I can't even say "lol white people" because they've come up with some very cool wedding dances/entrances. That one just sucks

What better way to start a marriage than dance in a church to a domestic violence convict's music smh

Because playing an artist's music = tacit approval of ALL of said artist's actions.

Guess nobody should be allowed to listen to Michael Jackson music, either.

Cute, but they'll probably look back in it after a decade or two and feel somewhat embarrassed.

Beats having a cookie-cutter wedding that's the same as everyone else's.

Pshaw.

The wacky dance wedding is already a years-old trope that reeks of self-congratulatory wannabe cleverness and fake nonconformity.

The only upside is that they'll have, right off the bat, material with which they can threaten to completely mortify their future children.

It is?

News to me.

Still, your take on it still strikes me as overly-analytical.  I still stand by my "they had fun, critics can fuck off" assessment.

I'd love to have a wedding entrance like this one.

The only thing that might stop me is that I also want to get married wearing my RCMP dress uniform, and I might balk at doing something too outrageous whilst wearing my RCMP colours.

Well, duh, from what I gather, that's 75% of the motivation for doing anything once a couple gets engaged.  ;)

Eh, I'm just getting more impatient with and crankier about people Doing Things Ironically.

If someone wants to insert some geeky, tacky, or potentially embarrassing extra bit* to their wedding ceremony because it's something they really love or it reaffirms their identity, I'd love 'em for it even as it made me cringe.

For whatever reason, I'm finding I can't stand the "Lookit me!  I'm being *wacky*!" vibe.  Not worth spending a ton of hate on, but where else can I go to make arbitrary pro-/con- pronouncements?

I'm glad they had fun but not to get all PD and all but it's in a church there should be a level of solemnity if you're going to have the service in a church. If this was in the reception I'd be cool except that it's a shit song- that's a year old.

That's not bad since it's instrumental and you said strut.

If I still remember this I plan to get my best men and I to rap this as we enter the reception:

hey want, but I don't know these people and feel no reason to love their wackiness, I just feel my bad taste radar klaxon blaring

I don't think he was claiming they were demanding his attention, just the whole "look at us, we so crazy" thing has been played out and is increasingly lame. It's their wedding and they can do whatever the fuck they want, ,but that won't stop my bad taste klaxons from blaring
