Now that I need a new laptop help me make a FINAL DECISION

So, the newest version of that sweet, sweet Asus laptop is this:

It's the I think Himumu got before he went to jail for being a black man.

It's predecessor was this:

There's a $400 difference between the two. The newer model appears to have a better video card, but. That's it? Can someone with a little more knowledge help me out? I can't see a reason to drop the extra 400 bucks just for a prettier video card.

I am looking to play games, but I'm less inclined towards ZOMG SUPER GRAFUX SHOOTER 7 and more into Left 4 Dead, The Witcher etc etc. I'm rarely into cutting edge shit. Battery life isn't a big deal and weight isn't a big deal. I just want something I can take from my desk to the couch.

Okay ADVISE ME

Buy a desktop and then run a KVM to your tv with wireless keyboard and mouse.  Insta-couchputer.

Well, part B is that we'll be doing a lot of traveling over the next year or two. So while I'm unlikely to, say, drag it to the library, I'm pretty likely to want to bring it on vacation or whatever

Yeah, but why is it worth $400 extra over the other?

get the previous model, the vidcard on the new one is downclocked

in the end, mine, prole's and himuro's are all about the same (other than himu's being a nice white and prole's having bitchin lightning on it and mine looking like someone smeared it with afterbirth)
