High Voltage, the developers behind the Wii-exclusive first-person shooter The Conduit, have signed up for a lifetime license to the Ghostbusters-powering Infernal Engine, gearing up for some Xbox 360 and PC development.

With The Conduit out of the way and a couple more Wii projects being polished off, High Voltage Software is now ready to make the leap into the "next-generation." They've signed an agreement with developer Terminal Reality that grants them a lifetime license for the Infernal Engine, which was the driving force behind the extremely well-received Ghostbusters: The Videogame on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Joe Kreiner, VP Sales and Marketing at Terminal Reality, neatly dismisses the Wii as a current generation platform.

Think about it guys.

Just a week ago or so, HV goes "Oh yeah sure we'd love to do a sequel to Conduit."

Then blam, they sign on for this exclusive HD engine to give off the glorious tools and resources to pull it off.

You know the team of developers were probably grumbling about working on second rate hardware. This is hilarious. Hopefully their 360/PC efforts aren't as creatively shitty.

That's true. Case in point Grin.

Majesco too.  They got a little press on some decent smaller titles, then all of the sudden they're betting the farm on Advent Rising.

I'm willing to bet that High Voltage has the same shitty management.  oh wait, they're less than an hour from me...I'll go ask them myself!

whose fault?  It was Majesco's fault. it sent Majesco back to the stone ages and did not sell shit.  They couldn't even follow through with the glitched $1,000,000 giveaway contest hidden in the game.  but Shadow Complex should be hot since it isn't being handled by a distinguished mentally-challenged publisher.

i guess you're right about the difference though...High Voltage will snuggle up to Sega, who will fund anyone's bullshit, it seems.

high voltage is a shitty developer that has been garbage for a while.  leave it to Nintendo fans to give this trash more press than they deserve.

I call it the Denis Dyack effect.

o no, High Voltage is several degrees worse than Silicon Knights ever was.

I thought they were pretty much the same: subpar developers putting out subpar efforts but since said subpar efforts are on a Nintendo console, they get hyped the point where it is no longer considered sane.  Then they crash and burn on other systems thereafter.

The Conduit is their best game, and it's pretty bad even among wii shooters.  I dunno, some people liked Hunter The Reckoning, I didn't.  Probably won't buy anything they make in the future.
