Les Paul has passed away at the age of 94.

Sad news, but there's a man who's legacy will definitely live on.

I owned a burgundy stained one with a woodgrain finish, and gold hardware, until it was stolen a few years ago. I still miss it.

What the.

Then again, he WAS 94.  Just one of those people you never expect to die because he just keeps motoring along.

He witnessed the evolution of music over the last century. Pretty awesome.

I saw him play at one of those jazz bars in New York a few years ago. I forget the name, was it the Iridium? Someone help me out here.

Beautiful guitars. Always wanted one. Although I always wondered if he was happy about the guitar he built to play jazz becoming such an iconic metal axe.

Eh, I'd say it's more an iconic rock axe.

I dislike the way LP's look actually but a Sunburst would be nice and the Olympic White one looks awesome.

This saddens me. My favorite paint style will always be the silverbust that Adam Jones from Tool uses.

Have you had the chance to play any of them? The tone is what really makes them. If you get the opportunity to mess around on one at a music store, or can borrow a friend's, give it a whirl. They're pretty versatile. The only downside I can think of is if you prefer a really thin neck for shredding.

I play acoustic. I have an acoustic. I'd like to switch it up to electric eventually.

No, not really.

I played FF music on my trombone when I was a kid though. God, something I wish I could forget.

I'd like to learn to play piano before I get an electric guitar, though. I know how to play four instruments, my goal is to learn to play five.

I'll have to try that someday.

Sax is my favorite instrument to play, as soothing as playing acoustic is. I really want a new sax, but I should probably invest in getting a digital keyboard first.

I miss playing sax sooo much. There's nothing more relaxing than playing a great tune on the sax.

Even though nowadays I mostly play an Epiphone Casino (stuck some P90s into it), I still love my Gibby LP.
