Nevermind, I beat it. Took about 6 hours gametime... achievement wanted me to beat it "under 12". They were being generous :lol

Well, this game is garbage. There's a HUGE glitch that causes your game to lock up and freeze, refusing to load levels. You lose all your progress. I got stuck with it when replaying levels and going for all collectables. This is widespread too, go to gamefaqs, x360a, even the wolfenstein forums, everyone gets it.

And now the game has decided to reset my multiplayer stats. All 60 Veil Strike kills down to zero. :lol

I am done trying legit. You try to play for real and the game turns around and does this. Looking around - surprise - it happens to everyone else too. What a shock.

I will just wait for muckhole to rent it so we can boost : )

this stuff doesn't happen in the pc version, although i will agree that the MP is pretty MEH

MP isn't Raven's fault, btw, Endtrant Studios did that bullshit

The SP is tight and a blast

This game is pretty fun

The economy blows though. I haven't been able to upgrade jack shit. And the black market dudes keep asking me for tomes, wtf, where do I get those, it's pissing me off

Tomes are hidden throughout every level. There's usually at least one or two.

I didn't have too much trouble upgrading my stuff, though. Are you doing all the sidequests?

Yeah did a few. Not going to bother finishing it though, I guess I didn't upgrade myself enough so the boss fights near the end of the game are just fucking stupid and not worth the aggravation. 7/10 game, nice art direction, pity the old-ass engine couldn't do it more justice.

You dont need the Tomes, all they do is grant you a couple extra veil abilities. You dont need these.

You dont even have to upgrade your guns. You can also exit the level if you are having trouble, and go back to get some gold.

The game isn't hard except the last boss. smh, change your name. You are not SHO NUFF

Didn't Raven do Quake 4?  Cause that got ridiculous toward the end too.  Which is weird because I don't remember the old Dooms or Quakes or Wolfensteins being particularly grindy in terms of enemy HP.  Luckily I was playing on cheat-o-rama PC version.  Although even with no_clip and god mode I couldn't even get through Doom3 because of the boredom.  Hmm, I'm starting to think all these Id/Raven games kinda suck after Quake 3.

ok i'm on the final boss, only having one quarter of the veil power kind of sucks

the nostalgia of fighting the same boss from Wolf3D's shareware episode doesn't make up for the fact that this isn't very fun

There's various veil pools littered around that fight, thats how the fight was designed

No I'm not defending it, it's trash. :lol

What in the fuck is this final boss shit with the missiles?

At least they realized the final boss fight was so horribly imbalanced and obtuse that they put a crapload of checkpoints in it  :lol

ok I just finished the game, that was just godawful

It picked up so well about a quarter of the way in, but then at the end the game throws up its hands and says "THAT'S IT, I'VE GOT NOTHING"

Totally balls achievements too.  :yuck

they pretty much do.  I bought the ID pack when it was on super sale on steam, played about 30 minutes each of Doom 3 and Ressurection...immediately regretted the purchase.

I'm about to try out the single-player mode for the first time. It's worth noting that in the two nights I helped demi out, my multiplayer stats (limited as they were) got wiped as well. Quality netcode too. Yeesh.

A demo came out on 360.  It was pretty fun (ran a bit choppy on the 360...no PC demo yet) and I'll pick it up in the future when it's cheap.
