Why are you so angry? You got a family, kids, money? Where's all this coming from?

Bad music and people who try to defend it from an uphill position....respect where it came from for once....I don't hate new school but let's stop acting like Biggie is coming through that door.

Sadly, I don't know if any artist has ruined his legacy with his interview shit more than KRS. When people let him play that teacher role at roundtables (Image removed from quote.)

pretty by the books :flabbynsick back and forth, then it takes off about 17:40

No one balanced the street words of wisdom + the smart-dumb five-percenter knowledge + the "you're a lame and your girl loves me" mc braggadocio + the mildly homoerotic sus. lines better than Guru

monotone delivery gave his music tones of objective observation and cool, calculated authority. It was his whole fucking ethos :pacspit :pacspit :pacspit

Stop it Jake, just stop it. I already know how KRS is, man.

You don't need to rub that shit in anymore :fbm like your uncle who just can't stop drinking, if drinking were saying poorly reasoned smart dumb shit with no nuance.
Kris has multiple classics and is on the (extended) Mt. Rushmore of Mc's. No one can take that away from him.

The post facto fuckery has to do with his grandfather-guru posturing now that his career's reached singularity. It's not a big deal to me, his music is as good as it ever was and any fan of the genre worth talking to will recognize that. I can hang him from the flagpole and still enjoy what he's produced (espec. now that he's irrelevant :heh).

It's this fucking Guru hate that shouldn't be allowed. :pacspit

also, his interviews have bright spots every now and then. One time he called out student debt as one of the greatest problems America faces today

of course, in typical KRS fashion, he hyperbolized it as THE greatest problem America faces today :heh

Is it hate to point out that a man had simple ABC flows, lacking in versatility, with fairly straightforward minimal #duality wordplay :hitler
this board and GAF-Hop love Big L, Spitta and Kno; lack of "versatility" (however we're defining that this week) clearly isn't a damning factor in an artist's career. I'm not denying that Guru's arsenal was limited, but I'd argue he's a more dimensional MC than he's given credit. He had the ability to either engage or fall back as a narrator and because of the effects of the monotone that I outlined earlier, he could go authoritative first person or ambivalent third person observer.

Watched some weird Tupac and Biggie documentary on netflix that was done by some annoying as English dude.

Outside of him calling Pac "two-pack" about 6000 times during the show (seriously wears on you) I found out that Tupac had a rough life and was probably gay and that biggie was a super nice guy who never really sold drugs according to people in the neighborhood.

Best part was when the guy doing the film asked Biggie's mom about him not eating as a kid and she basically was like "did you SEE my son? He was eating"

:dead

But that ending though, with the bodyguard of Biggie's basically fingering the dude that killed him, man, chills.

That title might still go to 8 Diagrams after letting it marinate some more. It picks up on the second half starting with Preacher's Daughter (Pioneer really but PD is decent enough) but the first half was rough.

The hook to Miracle might've given me diabetes
