Really highlights the difference between the 80s/90s and now. Diddy wasn't some gang banger but he's a real hustler, he's a street dude, and he doesn't give a fuck. Same with Jay, DMX, Nas, RZA, and most other dudes from that time - only difference being some (Hov) are better at controlling themselves. You're not gonna get away with shit on Diddy. He's not gonna just make a subliminal tweet or IG post, he'll confront you.
Also shows what these dudes think of him. Does anyone honestly believe Hov thinks Drake is dope? Hell, Hov came up in an era where you had to go after the guy on top; he didn't throw shots at Nas for nothing - he went after the guy on top when he was vulnerable (although Nas and Hov traded subliminal for years before Takeover). Drake and this entire crop of new rappers came in on some fan shit instead of trying to create their own legacies. Shit is pretty weak to me, which is partially why I liked Control so much. Not as a "diss" but because it was about competition and bravado.
Shit today reminds me of the NBA where everyone is buddy buddy after the game. You weren't gonna see Charkles Oakley dap up Jordan after a game in the 90s like that.
