Black Rob has been doing a promo run for it lately, including a Combat Jack appearance. And...I couldn't care less or understand why anyone else does. Does anyone care, in fact?

This isn't a "lol he's OLD" knock either. Dude is the same age as a variety of rappers people still fuck with.

Ka delivered. And Preservation too. I liked the EP they did, and while the production was good it felt like Ka's typical stuff. Whereas on this project Preservation really brings something fresh to the table to form a perfect marriage. The darkness and atmospheric feel of tracks like Cold Facts and Peace Ahki from his last two albums are kind of expanded upon here, and taken to another level. Some of this shit is pretty menacing, especially Day 3.

Great project. I'll try to contact him this weekend and set up some type of interview/AMA thing. I fear this project is going under the radar due to the moniker change, and if we don't ask some questions no one will.

i might have to dl :stahp

I got you if you need it breh...I couldn't wait.

And yeah, I can't justify paying for mp3s unless it's the sole way of supporting an artist. It's far too easy to get digital for free.

I'll buy digitals for dudes I support. I bought TPAB on iTunes and will buy it on vinyl later. Also copped Mr Wonderful because no matter what, Bronson gave me so much dope shit for free over the last few years that I'd be a jerkoff not to give him $10; he earned that shit. I'll buy Roc Marci's album, will buy Nas', and a few others. If Danny Brown comes out this year I'll cop that. If I'm a fan, I got you. On the flip side I dl'd shit like Lupe's album (which isn't bad btw), I'll download  Kanye's album lol, etc.

Also copped Kamasi Washington's album digitally but that's not hip hop. I'll definitely get a vinyl of that too.

If I can't afford or just don't feel like paying for a retail release then I'm not listening to it.  I'm not sure why I'm like this.  Guess I just bought into industry rhetoric about "supporting the artist" right around the age I starting earning my own spending money.  Never mind the fact that labels get the lion's share of album sales.  Piracy now just feels wrong to me.  I only ever consider it in cases where there's no digital release and physical copies are super expensive.  Examples would be last year's Good Book or relatively obscure stuff like this Natural Elements compilation album  (neither of which I've actually downloaded).

For a long time I was against using Spotify too since I didn't like the idea of being tied to single service (If I ever decide to stop paying then I lose access to  all those albums I loved on there).  I'll probably subscribe really soon since it's nearly impossible to keep up with the latest albums as a broke college student.  Plus I've been streaming shows and movies over Netflix/Amazon and never felt bad about it there.
