Lean & Neck

edit: thoughts?

I think it's better than Finesse The World, it's one of the darkest tapes about lean I've ever heard, and manages to be both vice driven and anti-vice at the same time.

Billy Woods - Today I Wrote Nothing
(Image removed from quote.)
I still don't know how to describe Billy Woods but he did it again. Abstract vignette that touch nearly every emotion you can imagine. If you wanted a DOOM album in 2015 maybe this will interest you.

Tall order  :gurl

I bet not come back disappointed  :ufup

Gave that Billy Woods a full listen. It's definitely a weird one.

There's some really good beats on here (Warmachines and Born Yesterday standing on top of the pile for me) and the lyrics are there but my man's flow has cancer.  :dead

Yet at the same time it...kind of works for him? Really hard to describe like you said but it's not bad at all.

I like it better than purple reign. The interview he did with khaled was great. I always feel like the less said the better but what he said about beast mode/56 nights priming his audience for ds2 was on point.

BTW this is what I'm referring to when I talk about the 'new golden age,' AIA. The last two pages or so are filled with plenty of 'new' artists, as well as old school artists as hilariously dated as Ras Kass, all posted by people who's average age is probably 25.

Damn, I meant to put something together for this.

Dilla is really impossible to pin down. Simultaneously over and underrated. The shit that was out under his name while he was alive doesn't really cover how creative he was, but all the shit that's come out since has kind of overshadowed how creative he was. Rough Draft is really one in a million.

PS I cosign the 33 1/3 of donuts

Played this for my HS health class during share a song day, but the teacher shut it down after the first verse.

Some chick got triggered and went off about the lyrical content and its rampant profanity, but it's like bish you hear Buckshot's flow right? Hear that, bish.

Album is great but it gets bloated. The backend of it is kind of a slog. I'm wondering if there are two different versions since the leaks are either 9 or 17 tracks.

Two initial thoughts:
1.) To the bloated comment, I don't disagree, but you gotta look at everything after Wolves as "bonus" songs imo
2.) The only real problem I have with this album is that it is the least cohesive of Kanye's works...but ironically that makes perfect sense with the theme of Ye today. He is slowly going crazy, he is disjointed. So it's kinda poetic that the album is kind of all over the place haha.
Maybe I'm talking out of my ass but overall I'm enjoying the album. Hope it's not his last.

That's kinda what I was thinking, and keeping that in mind definitely improves the album to me. I still need to digest it but overall it's really really great. It's confounding that Facts made it though

So far giving the album a 4/5

First couple of tracks flow nicely, but most of them needed to be a bit longer. Thought the back end was pretty good, though if my prior request was reality, I may have considered the album too bloated.
