Q lets Kendrick put together the song sequence for his albums. But it's not Cornrow Kenny's fault Oxymoron was weak

A lot of people were posting their own sequencing for Oxymoron on twitter after it dropped and they were all better than Kendrick's. It was all over the place compared to Q's previous albums. Regardless of what you thought of it, that hurt it.

Just looking at the tracklist now, and assuming I'm not allowed to shitcanned trash tier songs like Collard Greens and Los Awesomos...I'd do

Gangsta
Yay Yay
Break The Bank
What They Want
Studio
Grooveline, Pt. 2
Hoover St
Prescription/Oxymoron
Hell of a Night
The Purge
His & Her Friend
Los Awesome
Man of the Year
Collard Greens
Blind Threats
F**k LA

starts out dark, Prescription/Oxymoron remains the emotional climax. And after that things slowly get lighter/happier until last couple songs.

I really like the album now. All the songs that were released previously are fucking killer plus Gangsta, Hoover Street, Prescription/Oxymoron, Fuck LA. What They Want Is pretty good too. Looking forward to hearing Gravy, Californication, and whatever the last bonus track is.

The initial disappointment I felt was mostly because I had already heard so many of the best songs, plus the sequencing of the album is terrible. This is the tracklist I'm going with for now:

01 Gangsta
02 Banger(Moshpit) - I'm hoping this is the final bonus track
03 Collard Greens
04 Hoover Street
05 Fuck L.A.
06 Prescription/Oxymoron
07 What They Want
08 Hell Of A Night
09 Blind Threats
10 Yay Yay
11 Break The Bank
12 Man Of The Year

It flows a lot better this way.

What better way to display how trash most trap is (and how musically illiterate most trap fans are) than for Hamburger Helper to throw some 808s and trap drums on a mixtape and have people going crazy. Raise the fucking bar, please.

There's also a Wii-like disconnect with me and Drake at times. Like both of these songs are pretty ehhh to me, they don't do anything interesting or match some of his previous singles. And while I've noticed some rap forums/folks sharing that sentiment....like the Wii, this shit will probably be a hit.

The Jay/Kanye song especially seems weak. Hov having like two bars almost seems like some passive aggressive shit on his part, or maybe this is just an unfinished or half assed song. Either way Drake is going to dominate the summer so

jay-z "verse" was basically the equivalent of an Andre 3000 feature

ill stick to the new weezer album instead for my summer music

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. On one level I completely get why Drake is so popular, but for the most part his music does nada for me at all, especially his 'I'm really a real rapper, seriously guys!' stuff like this. At the same time I do get a kick out of how much J Cole boombap heraldists get so umad at his popularity, I've appreciated anything that gets a rise out of that crowd since 'laffy taffy'.

The new song is something though, I've always wondered what it would sound like if you got three dudes who were insanely jealous of each other would sound like, and lo and behold it's exactly as subpar as you would expect

印象III : なんとなく、パブロ (Imagining "The Life of Pablo")

Apparently Japan has yet to have an official release of TLOP for whatever reason, so someone took it upon themselves to imagine what the album might sound like, going off the lyrics and samples credited.

Anyone listen to the new Elzhi? From what I've heard/read (as in opinions) it sounds like the beats are underwhelming. Randomly this made me think of when PD opined about how Livin' Proof was a waste. That made me wonder whether anyone has ridden those beats properly yet (like on a mixtape or something?)

Speaking of the second word of that album title (everything is connected in this post...I hold the key to my own vocabulary), yesterday was the 10th anniversary of Proof's death.
Here is my favourite Proof track (which hits harder now R.I.P.) and the classic Em and Proof freestyle that is just genius

Honestly I tried listening to the Elzhi album a couple times before going back to SS3. I'll give it a through listen this weekend.

Still super disappointed that he literally didn't do shit after Elmatic. Apparently he did some interviews recently and said he was battling depression so I feel bad for him...but he wasn't doing shit during the times he wasn't depressed either. Just a missed opportunity brehs. And the production so far on the album is forgettable. Whereas at one point he was talking to Madlib about doing an album, plus he was in contact with Black Milk.

Lauren track is dope. Legit feels good seeing Bronson stay loyal to Mayhem and some of his other dudes.

brehs if I wasn't lazy I'd write an article on the alleged 2010s NY revival, what went wrong, and where the fuck are some of those guys now.

Like is Maffew Ragazino even alive still?

What happened to Xquire after he refused to just be that guy white hipsters chuckle at?

Where did Children Of The Night go?

why am I so dusty :brazilcry
