All of Apple's mice use two buttons, and you could use a third party one as well. :smug

Sexy deserves sexy  :-*

I also bought the recent macbook pro. I'm so used to spotlight that I find navigation via clicking and windows very archaic. I really love my macbook, it's very easy, fast, orderly, coherent and damn sexy.

Get gimmesometune. It's itunes frontend, with keyboard shortcuts, it automatically searches for lyrics of the current playing song and attaches it to the file, same with album art.

I have bought a wired apple keyboard (best keyboard I've used) and use my old usb mouse (connected to the usb port of the keyboard)
Have fun with one mouse button
he has the best touch trackpad. macbooks don't come with mice you pile of noob flesh.

I don't understand why people spend so much money on macs.

They look like sex but thats it.
Glad I'm a virgin.

Trust me, they are a very good experience in terms of ease of use, coherence, trackpad and all that stuff. I used to think like that, but the Apple tax is more than just for looks. It outshines the laptop of my father and brother in so many ways. They also want a macbook now as their next laptop.

The trackpad also support a second button using the multi touch, meaning if you need to use the second ''button'', you just place both fingers on the trackpad and click.  The Mighty Mouse, Apple's official mouse, is actuallly a three button mouse as well.  It's just horrible, though.

But you can install MacOS on a normal laptop too if you love it that much.

Or buy a Psystar desktop for like half the money http://www.psystar.com
I've tried installing os x on my previous desktop, doesn't work that well. I've fizzeled and tweaked with my PCs for the last 10 years extensively, I just can't be bothered with that anymore.  As I get older I appreciate simple things that just work. Hence why I play games on my consoles (lol360redrings :() I bought an usb hdd and got it working with timemachine, works like a charm.

Had a MacBook Pro since June 9 and I honestly can't go back to a Windows-based laptop after two months of use. I also installed Windows 7 via VMWare Fusion so I could use Microsoft Office and the better version of MSN Live Messenger. It just doesn't get better than this when it comes to laptops.

Also, assuredly, if you're not cool like me and have a MacBook Pro, you probably can't satisfy even the most dastardly of nymphos. It's science, bro.

If you're like me and you usually have a fuckload of windows open, get growl... it'll notify you of what's going on with different apps (song changes in iTunes, downloads in Transmission, new messages in whatever IM client you use, etc.) and it's free.99. Other than that, I rock Aperture for my photos. Congrats, btw! What size MBP did you get? Get Snow Leopard, it'll be free for you! :rock

did they?  the one I have is one of the launch MB unibodies, before they made them all "Pro."  I don't use the full clicks, but any time someone borrows it, they wail on the thing.

Onyx is good for running UNIX maintenance crap; not sure if it's still needed with 10.5.x

Transmission is easy-peasy bittorrent unless you're running registered trackers, in which case: BitsOnWheels

VLC runs just as nicely on Mac as on PC; the Swiss Army Knife of video players. Even does a QuickTime-like floating control bar when running in fullscreen.

Handbrake's sweet for ripping DVDs to an iPod (or other player) media format.

If you have an iPod Touch or iPhone, get Remote app for it so you can control your iTunes playback from anywhere. I've got that and an AirPort Express with AirTunes in the living room; it is pretty sweet.

Firefox still runs like crap on Mac, so if you want to sync bookmarks with Windows and Safari, get Xmarks for Firefox/Safari and it will solve your woes.

I have Firefox just to view a page with more than one gif on it. Otherwise, Safari :rock

Trackpads suck. I use a mouse whenever I can.

Under normal circumstances I'd agree with this, but I actually prefer using the trackpad on my unibody mac more than a mouse.

Gifs actually don't crash or stutter safari in snow leopard!  Some even run full speed (i think...at least not totally slow motion.)

This should've been a bullet point on the Snow Leopard box!
