No, the guy who was fired was working in a middle management position in a retail chain.  If you think that guy's job description is ANYTHING like what Federwang or myself had to go through as store managers... you're very, very mistaken.  Now granted the job has it's own set of challenges and the people who are good at it will put in long hours at it... but from everything Willco has said this guy was NOT someone who was good at his job, and having had the benefit (not really, ugh) of an extensive retail career myself I can vouch for what he's saying.

I fail to see how what Federman did was "taking revenge".  The dude was a shitty employee, period.  I find it impossible to believe that any regional director would fire a dm solely because a former employee complained about being barred from a store.  Keep in mind that this dm 1) withheld Federwang's last paycheck out of spite 2) knew that Willco wouldn't be there after his 2 weeks notice was up and still went on vacation after another employee quit, resulting in a location opening late repeatedly that week and 3) blamed all that shit on Willco, thus resulting in the petty "you're banned from the store" episode.  Does that sound like someone who you would want working for you?  Or are you just so predisposed to sticking up for assholes that you want to take this guy's side too?

As for the Jews comment, I could totally go Godwin here and say that Federman had every right to speak out so that in the future no other employees would suffer under this dm's inept bungling management but that would just be wrong.  Wrong!  Like comparing a shithead dm to Jesus.

It's revenge that Willco's upset about being banned for no reason from a store he likes to frequent? If the DM at Best Buy or something got mad and decided that I wouldn't be allowed to shop there anymore you can bet that I'd do the exact same thing.

An angry letter from a customer gets things done. I know this from personal experience. A few years back I bought a Linksys router that had a mail in rebate. I sent in the rebate. A few months later I got an email saying that they couldn't send me my rebate because they didn't have proof [i.e. the barcode from the packaging] that I'd bought the router. I didn't have the barcode anymore because I cut it off the box and sent it to Linksys. I drafted and suitably angry email, took a picture of the box with the barcode cut off, and sent it in. Fast forward a few months and I've got a $15 check from Linksys. Yeah, $15 isn't a big deal, but that was MY $15.

I would think that if one believes in Karma that things actually balanced out due to Willco's email. All the stupid shit the DM had done in the past came back to bite him, it was Willco's email that put things in motion. So one more act of stupidity from the DM, Karma was like "Fuck this shit" and put him in the bread lines.
