I guess, I just don't really get all the "THIS GUY SHOULD BE STRUNG UP BY HIS PENIS AND SKINNED ALIVE" type comments. Haphazard or not, I'm pretty sure he didn't want to ruin the guy's career.

He may not have intended to break his leg or end his career, but there did seem some intent to make a fault/hurt him as you often see players doing this, with their leg/foot forward. It was a very heated match between two long standing rivals, a lot of frustration and aggression so I doubt it was just an accident.

Also, Witsel is from Liege (Wallonie: Belgium) so they can't deport him. Usually not an aggressive player though.
