But seriously, I like the DS, but wouldn't the psp be a better bet. It's gaining momentum in Japan and the platform is more close to the PS2 architecture than the DS.

A 3D Okami on the DS is a terrible idea. 2D with the stylus support? Yeah, that would be cool. 3D? No way.

Although, I can't see Okami working on the PSP due to the lack of a second analog stick and/or stylus.

Should I just go for the WII version now? Which version has widescreen or 480P?

PS2 emulation is much improved but I don't know if most games are actually playable from start to finish. I can get MGS3 subsistence running at 60s in 1600x1200 but the audio doesn't sync properly and every now and then there's some weird visual artifact. Basically they're taking away everything that make Okami great (Kamiya, Clover, unique style, suitable system, etc.) and making whatever this thing is. Will remain hopeful.

PS2 Okami is still wide screen. The biggest visual difference is the Wii version lacking the cloth filter that some people did and didn't like (intentionally makes the game a bit blurry to seem like a painting). Control-wise, the game was built for the PS2 controller.

Would've been awesome if it was 2D, haven't gotten a chance to see the scans yet but I really hate when devs choose to go with 3D on the DS. They should stick to 2D.

and it's weird that Okami doesn't look a whole lot better in those emulator shots. In fact, it looks more blurry, drab and lifeless. $:-\$

Combat in the wii version sucks because of the waggle. Not to mention the (fleetfoot

) dodge was completely broken. I didn't have the same problems with the brush strokes as others but they have missed the 'hold z to draw a steady line' tidbit.

My biggest problem with the game is that it was gabby. The npcs would yammer on and on and the damn flea thing would interrupt the game every other minute or so. I gave up on it mostly for that and the collectathon bullshit. It was purty, but I think that beyond the visual novelty it was an amateurish zelda.
