Don't forget Activision sales (at least on CoD franchise, dunno about their non-CoD sales)

EA has good sale prices though?  I dunno about bundles, but Mirrors Edge/Burnout/Dead Space are always dirt cheap.  Though this was before Origin came along and they got steam-hatin; so maybe you're right.

I'm talking specifically about their bundles. Their Sims 3 sale was the game and all the add-ons for about $82, buying them separately, or you can get the bundle for $80. :lol

Actually I just looked for their recent stuff that I care about:

Bulletstorm = 0% discount, $29.99
Crysis 2 = -10000000000000000000000000000% discount because it doesn't even exist
Shadows of the Damned = no pc version

So yeah, PC EA has been sucking lately.

EA, Capcom, and Rockstar are the worst offenders in my case. For every 3 releases 2 aren't featured on my region's market. And the games that make it are marked up.

Yeah the publisher catalogs are on sale.  (Except EA :derp)

One reason this sale seems relatively disappointing is because alot of people already own a good chunk of the games going on sale again.  You can only offer Lara Croft for $3.75 so many times before everyone that is interested owns it.

Is it just me or are the sales offering worse "bang for the buck" than last year? Are there still THQ, Square, Eidos packs with *all* their games including 2011 releases? id Super Pack?

Yeah.  Last year, even x-mas, most 1-2 year old quality games were $4.99.  Now they're $7.50-9.99.  Sale prices are rising!  Very few $50 games selling for $3.74 or $4.99 anymore.

Which is a shame because that's my impulse purchase price point where I'll grab things I'm somewhat interested in.  Anything higher than $4.99 and I'm out.

Anyhow, picked up my first game of the sale with Tomb Raider Underworld for $7.50.  Yeah that's kind of a shitty price for such an old ass game that doesn't even have the endgame DLC chapters available.  But I've been wanting to play it since it's the only post-reboot TR I haven't played and I didn't want to play it at <30fps on X360.  Plus $7.50 is still less than the $20-30 they always want for it since it never goes on sale anymore.

Capcom is just bad at this sale thing.  THQ, Eidos, 2K, Bethesda, and even Sega drop prices low to make whatever they can on old ignored games.  I'd be shocked if more than 10 people bought Bionic Commando for PC in the past year, yet Capcom's best offer is 50% off.  The game bombed so hard the developer doesn't exist anymore.  At this point they should just take whatever money they can get .

A mental barrier prevents most people from gifting or buying $10+ games on a whim.  Maybe if it had high praise.  But $7.50? maybe.  $5? sure, it looks alright -or- double dip.  <$5? I don't know what this is, I'll never play it, but fuck it, bought.

Activision's sales make more sense.  Singularity is $7.50 cuz it didn't do well, while CoD games remain high because they're still making bank.  Capcom = DARK VOID! MEGA DEAL! 50% off! $15! I'VE HEARD NOTHING BUT...well, nothing.  I'm going to buy four indie tower defense games and two eurojank instead, for the same price.

At least you only paid 12 dollars for it.  I bought it new when it came out on the 360 and I stopped playing it around the 3rd mission.  I ended up trading it in for next to nothing.

And I really wish ME2 had 360 controller support.  I never understand why that isn't just a standard practice anymore especially since there's already a UI in place for a gamepad.  Given the choice, I'd much rather play these games with a pad rather than my kb/m.

I don't know why I'm tempted to buy The Last Remnant.  I've had the 360 version for over a year and a half and played like about 30 min of it.  Why I'm fighting whether or not to buy it again is beyond me.

The X360 version is a piece of shit though.  Barely holds 20fps and battles take much, much longer without the turbo fast forward speed boost the PC version got.

If you have any interest at all in ever playing it, pick up the PC one.  I imported the X360 one, played 30 mins, re-bought on PC for $10.

yeah, it's Bioshock 2 did it too.  PC specific interface but you lose controller support.  On the other end, games like Alpha Protocol have busted PC controls because the interface is still meant for a 360 pad.

Deus Ex Human Revolution (not out yet) has full controller support with button prompts and everything.  But if you play it with keyboard and mouse, it dynamically adds a bar to map items the number keys, changes the hacking game for mouse interface, allows scrolling in in-game documents.  That is one of the few exceptions, partly because a separate team is working on the PC version.

I'm mostly annoyed that Mass Effect 2 DLC is only on their lame Bioware store and they never put it on sale.  Not even Origin has sales for the DLC.  At least release a GOTY edition with all the DLC packed in.

And the lack of controller support was the reason I didn't double dip for Bioshock 2.  I can't be the only one out there that skips these games because the developers don't include a gamepad option.  To me it seems kind of ridiculous that they don't at least give us the choice, especially since there's already console versions out there.  Fuck Xpadder.  Give me proper native support.

Has Dawn of War 2 Gold had a better deal this week than right now? It's $20 right now but I was thinking that if I wait until the final sale day their might be a better deal.

Also kinda thinking about Fallout 3, even though I'm afraid of how fucking broken it's going to be.

I don't remember seeing Dawn of War pop up other than in the publisher pack.  Still, I'd wait and see.

Not native.  But if you grab Pinnacle software you can make it work.  I used Pinnacle for the first Splinter Cell game and it worked fairly well with my 360 controller.

Anyone play Universe Sandbox?  Thinking about picking it up.  I'd grab Amnesia but I'm not a fan of scary games.

I ended up buying Conviction again yesterday and for whatever reason it seems to better this time around than when I played last year.  Still there's some things that bug me, like how the game will fade into black and white while you're in shadow and the forced letterboxing.  I don't know which of those two irks me more.  I doubt there's mods for either of these things seeing how Ubi likes to fill each of their games with draconian DRM.

Seriously, that letterboxing is ridiculous.  There's no need for it all.
