Err, yeah I wasn't talking about guns+stealth literally, I meant an equivalent, aka a set of weapons/skills that are totally overpowered and broken and make the game fun to blow through in a god-like way.

Stealth will get you through most of the game, along with your associated vampire powers. Just be prepared to have all that cool stuff thrown out the window in the second half of the game where you have to fight huge swarms of enemies. Basically, you may be fine for the most of the game playing it like it's supposed to be played, but don't be afraid to pop in some cheats if it gets too frustrating later on.

A list of what I bought/was gifted:

Atom Zombie Smasher
Bit.Trip Runner
Frozen Synapse
Magicka
Toki Tori
Torchlight
Borderlands
Bully
Dreamfall
Longest Journey
Half Life
Half Life 2
Hald Life EP1
Just Cause 2
The Last Remnant
Left 4 Dead
Monkey Island 1 SE
Monkey Island 2 SE
Racettear
Shadowgrounds
Supreme Commander 2
Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines
VVVVVVVVVV

I have no idea how much that cost, can someone who's more in-touch with reality give me an estimate?

Either way, they're games I've been waiting for to drop in price, sitting in my wishlist for so long. The only impulse purchases, based purely on GAF's hyperbole, were Vampire & the Longest Journey games. So all in all, not so bad.

I'm gonna say...$12.

By the way, make sure you get the Bloodlines fan patch before you play.

I wouldn't be surprised. Most of them are smaller hipster games.

By the way, make sure you get the Bloodlines fan patch before you play.

I thought "Vampire: The Last Masquerade - Bloodlines" was the fan-patched version. :lol

PLEASE EXPLAIN THE BOLDED SELECTIONS

I never played a Half Life game, and thanks to a few of you I have half the collection. Right now, I'm only missing the original HL2 and Ep1 from the HL2 saga, and I'm wondering if it's worth playing through the first or not (if only for... the story?)

I'm aware that this is supposed to blasphemy by gaming standards, so spare me the tomatoes.

Oh and I could understand if you were my age or younger but never playing any of the HL games is crazy to me.

I couldn't overcome my motion sickness from playing FPSes until recently.

Don't let my terrorist exterior fool you, I'm very moe moe desu~ on the inside. :'(

Amazon price matched Steam's screw up earlier of DoW2 Retribution.  It was original at 7.49 but the wrong price.  Went back up to 14.99 on steam.  Amazon still has it at 7.49:

Hey MrBob, if I want to play a DoW game, should I start with DoWII vanilla?  Or should I install Chaos Rising to add extra stuff to DoWII (if that's how it works, not sure if it's a separate campaign or what)?  Or should I jump straight into Retribution?

I heard good things about Drakensang:  River of Time so I picked it up today.  It is $9.99 so you have enough in your wallet for it.  European RPG.

Hey MrBob, if I want to play a DoW game, should I start with DoWII vanilla?  Or should I install Chaos Rising to add extra stuff to DoWII (if that's how it works, not sure if it's a separate campaign or what)?  Or should I jump straight into Retribution?

For the campaign you want to start with vanilla DoW2.  Chaos Rising expansion takes place right after the events of the end of the first game.  Retribution can be played as a stand alone, but I'd still finish DoW2 and Chaos Rising first.  The story in Retribution will make more sense.

Now for The Last Stand game mode (which rocks), it doesn't matter which version you load into.  You just choose one of 5 generals and try to survive!  I'm always up for playing TLS online so hit me up if you want to play.  I can also help with the campaign too if you want it.  All 3 games support online co op for it.

Played through Eversion.  That was really really short (like 20 min game) though if you want to get all the gems and unlock the hidden world and get the secret ending that'll add another hour or so (I just youtube'd at that point; not a forced collect-a-thon fan).  It was sort of interesting, but even at $2.50 it felt like a bit of a ripoff for being that short.  Most freeware games are longer!

bought the Meridian 4 Adventure Pack. Contains all the adventure games I wanted from this sale and one more. Actually not much of a price difference had I bought the games individually -- I think I saved about 50 pence

My final haul:

(Meridian 4 Adventure Pack) Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals, Scratches - Director's Cut, Still Life, Still Life 2, Syberia, Syberia II
Frozen Synapse
King Arthur Collection
Men of War Assault Squad
Civ 5 (off gamersgate :teehee)
Two Worlds 2
Call of Juarez The Cartel (off the Hut; Steamworks so it counts)

I played a little bit of King Arthur. I didn't realize it was going to be a Total War type RTS game. It does have some RPG elements but i've never really been to fond of those kind of games.

edit: added a little bunch of games since they are cheap:

Everyday Shooter
The Final Hours of Portal 2
I-Fluid
Sanctum

Dungeons of Dredmor seems like it's a pretty well put together rogue-like so far. It's more like Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup than the more intricate Dwarf Fortress or Angband. Seems worth it for those that are into the genre.

Any comments on those from anyone? I know they're only $3 but was wondering if they were actually any good.

Been playing some Sanctum single-player during downtime waiting for this weekend when I can play it with some friends who picked it up. Pretty fun, somewhat like Monday Night Combat without the other team in terms of how it "feels." Curious to see how it plays in co-op, if you share resources, etc. Love being able to teleport back from the frontlines to clean up whatever my towers missed. Some of the enemy types are well done in that it helps if you play both FPS and Tower Defense with them due to their specific weaknesses.

Of course I'm a sucker for tower defense however it's offered.

Yep.  There are some things I don't like, such as having to turn off smoothing every time, slightly clunky UI, lewt that doesn't show up on your character, etc.  But for $5 it is really great.  The perk system is especially awesome.

no diagonal movement
no moving into enemy to auto attack
no automatic item stacking

But everything else is fantastic, especially the music. For $5 everyone should own this. I wish I'd not bought anything during the sale now because I can imagine only playing this.

You guys have proved time and time again that you're the best. I literally don't for anyone who doesn't contribute to this thread (especially demi :shh).

Wait until next week when they release the patch to play it.

The following bugs have been fixed:
- Fixed: Anvils of Krong spawning in hallways for no good reason
- Fixed: crash that occurred when moving up stairs or down stairs, randomly
- Fixed: Knightly Leap now covers the full span of Knight Movements.
- Fixed: shopkeepers doing odd things when picking up and dropping items after load/save
- Fixed: crash when using invalid missile sprites
- Fixed: merchandise not cleared when you go downstairs
- Fixed: backwards conditional logic on ranged monster attacks means that monsters were not consistently casting spells; fixing this makes the Dungeon 95.2% nastier.
- Fixed: Current Active Skill crossing over between new games
- Fixed: the bug with save games overwriting themselves if you have two characters with kind of the same name.

And the following new things shalt be added:

- Key binding interface.
- Automatic Saves in the Case of Crashes.
- Changes to how Permadeath works. We’ll now delete the file when you actually die.
- Auto-loot toggle.
- SHIFT-Click and Click Reversal Button. (Makes SHIFT-Click work like CLICK! Makes CLICK work like SHIFT-Click!)
- Rapid selling of items in the store, yea, by holding the SHIFT-Click button and smacking the inventory while standing in a shop.
- Fifty New Achievements
- Steam Overlay Support, yea, though it is Experimental and Requires your Graphics Card To Support OpenGL
- In-game Leaderboards, Yea, For Messing With Your Friends
- Steak Grilling
- Magnification of UI elements to TWICE their Size (Yea, Though We Know Not How Far We Can Get With This In The Allotted Time, Though We Are Working On It)

played about an hour of dungeons of dredmor. really really like it. i didn't have that much trouble on my second character. but then again i'm still on the first level of the dungeon so i havent seen any crazy stuff. but it's a lot of fun.
