I'm sure it'll be $5 by the holiday sale, if not sooner.

Yeah I got it for free on the PS3 with PS+ but for graphical showpiece games I'd rather wait and play them on PC.  Grabbed it for a tenner.  Should I play Metro 2033 first?  Or can I play 2033 after if I like Last Light?

The story is a continuation of 2033, but I never played that and I'm fine.

Game looks real good on PS3 too btw.

47" tv helps :P

I'm guessing the IQ is terrible though, like every PS3 game.  PS4 is the first console I'm actually ok with image quality (and would totally play free PS+ games even if a PC version existed; hell I'll buy the PS4 version over the PC one occasionally like ACIV because of performance) since even if they don't turn on AA, at 1080p jaggies are pretty minimal.  720p or sub-720p with no AA and 30fps or lower though...hurts the eyes when I can play at 1080p with 4xAA and 30-60fps on my PC.

The new Steam controller prototype is shit. I don't know how anyone can be so positive about it. I mean it works but the button placement and the pads are uncomfortable. The haptic feedback is neat though.

I can't hate too much though. It's 3D printed and that is pretty fucking cool.

it adds in the dlc, which is great, but it doesnt fundamentally change the game or anything. its just that the last 1/3 of it will have a shitload more content.

i also kind of hate it because it seems to be a port of a port so it feels kind of off. some minor bugs/graphical glitches/NO PISS FILTER WHY GODDAMMIT WHY that have me saying over and over again "i dont remember it being like this..."

The DC is fine. The commentary is cool to listen to, though I wish they'd included visual hotspots for it like Valve does. There was also something I had to change in the config files or even the registry to get my framerate back to where it was in the original release, but other than that (and the misssing piss filter) it was good.

Last Remnant PC - own on 360, heard the PC version is better
Deus Ex HR Director's Cut - owned the original version on 360
Deus Ex 1 GOTY edition - own a boxed copy of the first release but it's nice to have digitally

Yeah, good game?

My personal favorite point & click adventure since the golden era of the 90s.  It's super budget and janky, but the story and characters are good, the puzzles good, it's a nice meaty length and the music is phenomenal.  It's a spiritual sequel to the Gabriel Knight series, which is my favorite adventure game series, so it's not a surprise I like this one a lot!

Which one of these LEGO games is the best one for me to throw five bucks at? Marvel Super Heroes? Lord of the Rings?

License doesn't matter too much, I just like the dopey play of them from time to time. Pop in and play a couple levels. Friend got MSH a while back and said it was really good.

Already have the first Batman which was kinda meh, loved Star Wars though.

Lord of the Rings and Marvel seem like the most polished games.  They also have that pseudo open world where you can collect various doodads.

I haven't played The Movie or The Hobbit yet, though.

Another GOG "port", Realms of the Haunting on Steam now.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/292390/

It's aged terribly (the controls are laughably bad) but I loved this game back in the 90's.

First problem I've ever had with steam:  Bought Shadowrun Returns + Dragonfall.  Go to install games it's stuck at "searching for licenses" forever.

Then I go to software library and it doesn't show up in my library of owned games.  But on the store page for it, it has the green "you already own bar"  but when I click play now nothing happens.  Grrrrr >_<

Yup.  Apparently Dragonfall's campaign is way better but you have to own Returns to play it since it's technically "DLC"
