Labor Day Game Sales Thread - BB 50% off select PS3, etc.

So I was just in Best Buy, and there was a basket full of PS3 games at 50% off through Labor Day.  A lot of special edition stuff, like SOCOM with the headset, Endwar w/headset, Brothers in Arms, WWE 2009, etc.  They also had a bunch of regular edition stuff in there, nothing too notable, but they did have Uncharted, Motorstorm, and some other A games.

They had the Resident Evil 5 Collector's Edition and I ended up paying $30 for it, which is half what they're charging for the plain old regular edition

They're also still running the "Buy 1 360 game, get the 2nd at 50% off" special through Saturday.

So, just a heads-up.  Each BB will probably have a different selection games, but it couldn't hurt to check.

I'm thinking about getting Advent Rising for a dollar, but it isn't BC on 360.

Eel, the PS3 version of RE5 is the worst version.  You might want to consider returning it and just wait for the definitive version which will be released on the PC soon.

man, I have a feeling black friday is going to be really good this year.  The gen is in full swing, lots of good stuff has come out over the past two years, and a lot of it will be $19.99 or less. I'm gonna get Sigma 2 on launch, but nothing else until BF.

that's weird you had such a bad experience with the 360 version, while i didn't experience any glitches in the pc version

sounds like achievements and trophies were an afterthought for consoles

pc version is fine as far as SP goes, and i haven't run into any MP glitches (although i admittedly haven't played many MP matches)

since swaggaz is looking at the pc version, and probably isn't into the MP side of it, i think he'll have a fine time for $30

Isn't this going to be the Big New Thing from Infinity Ward? COD4:MW is supposedly one of the most innovative multiplayer games out there, but you think their first new game in ages is going to be just a "map pack"?

i'm sure it'll be a swell shooter for fans, but i'm not seeing the innovation in the trailers and gameplay footage

choose your own perks, throwing knives...none of that seems like a big deal to me

sure!  prole and i were having some trouble on sunday, i had to download a $10 expansion before we could play together, i think that's bullshit to hold online features hostage like that and i'll never do it again, but i really wanted to play co-op

The only real negative thing I can say about MW2 (so far) is that it seems like it's getting really cluttered.  The trailers are showing of sticky grenades and throwing knives, all these kill streaks, and then there are separate single player, versus and co-op modes.  If they can make it all work and feel balanced, it will be great.

and I'm still thinking about getting Wolfenstein or not.  The thing that is interesting to me is the open world stuff.  I saw a video where people talked about how you could explore the city with the alt.vision and find hidden areas.  If there is good exploration there, that would set it apart for something like Call of Juarez, which was ok from the demo, but I didn't really feel the need to buy it.

Yeah, that's what Scenester and I did, even just to avoid a 5 min. wait for the free Unkut Pack. Then I just re-downloaded it again after we were done.
