Absolutely astounding. Amazing cast, Orson Wells was brilliant. I have a couple questions though. First one pertains to the story itself, and I'll spoiler it for anybody who hasn't seen it:

Was the titular third man Harry Lime? I'm assuming that it was Joseph who got hit with the car and Harry helped carry the body at the scene. I only realized they kind of left this open after I finished the film.
My second question involves the technical quality of the film and many made in the same period. Is there any version of classic films like The Third Man, Citizen Kane or other older movies that restore the audio so that it isn't so noisy? Every time I watch an old movie I have a hard time hearing the dialogue clearly because the sound quality is atrocious. Did the Blu-Ray release of The Third Man restore the sound? Or are all classic films doomed to sound like they're stuck in a tin can?
