Dead platforms shouldn't be allowed.  PSP is as much of a viable platform as the Dreamcast is. Take that shit off!

PSP had the best releases this year! Actually, the PS2 and the PC did, but I wanted to make you hurt where you're soft like a woman, Willco. I mean: what good are these GotY polls anywhere if they aren't used to piss people off?

PSP had a shit year for a shit platform.  PS2 had a good year, as did the PC and I do not object to their placement on the poll.  But the PSP addition and voting is purely out of spite!  You're not be objective at all.

It's not my fault you enjoy shovelware and then lift MAF and TVC's DS/GBA games instead of purchasing them like a REAL gamer.

You definitely bought more than 4 games for the DS this year.  Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Castlevania, Elite Beat Agents, NSMB, and that's only the past couple of months.  Oh and Yoshi's Island 2.  There's 5 right there, and I know there's more I can't think of.

I think it's a toss up between the DS and the 360.  PS2 had an especially good year, but really, who expected it not to have one?  The DS had a stellar lineup, and it's really proven it to be the Little Engine that Could.  360 had a great first year, maybe one of the best first years ever for a console.  It got off to a slow start, and while software was never there in quantity, there was a steady stream of extremely high quality and/or interesting titles.  GRAW, Oblivion, Dead Rising, Viva Pinata, GoW (although it's not my cup of tea), Rainbow 6 Vegas, CoD3 (the multiplayer makes up for the ho-hum campaign).  It only loses points for the console's questionable hardware reality, the reason I can't honestly recommend the system to my friends.

I bought a PSP this year, and already own 12 games for it.  I really don't get all the whining about the load times, as none of the games I own load longer than 20 seconds or so (at the most).  If you can't wait 20 seconds to play, then you don't have the time to be playing games, period.  Plus, everyone bitched about console ports or short levels and portability or whatever, but that Castlevania game has console-length levels without a whole lot of save points, and that New Super Mario isn't very save-friendly for a portable, either.  I think that in some ways the PSP has more portable-friendly games - most newer games give you lots of opportunities to save during a level. I will agree that new games are overpriced for PSP - $29.99 is my max, I won't buy it unless I have a coupon or a credit somewhere.  If I have to pay full price, then I just wait.  I still like DS okay, but PSP is a great system for the most part (although the lack of a second analog disc was very short-sighted).

For me it's a toss-up between PSP and 360.  I mean Sega Genesis Collection and Loco Roco (kiss my ass, it's adorable) omg, but Oblivion and COD3 multiplayer...

I love my ps2. EEE and Gunpey ftw specifically, but Wipeout Pure is still drop dead amazing, but other games like Gradius Collection, Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins, Daxter, and Exit are awesome as well. Plenty of good games on the PSP. People just like to be lazy and dismiss the PSP for FICTIONAL reasons instead of doing the research to bash it for legitimate reasons like BASE UNIT COSTS TOO MUCH but in reality for the tech vs the DS Lite, it doesnt cost THAT much more considering the visuals and functionality you get from it.

Hey I love my DS, but im not gonna bash the PSP for made up reasons. It has a place in my gaming library.

Yeah, the base unit is too expensive. Even a drop to $179 would be a welcome one, I think.

Yeah, but looking at the technology I guess I shouldnt say its too expensive so much as its 'out of reach' of the market they probably want to target. I can understand the PSP's price, but if they wanna hock it to gamers a price reduction WOULD help.

Drop it to $179, include a 256mb Memory Stick so people can sample all the features (they're dirt cheap now, and you'd still need to buy another if you want to do any sort of lengthy video or whatever), and they'd see a huge surge in sales, I bet.

Maybe a 128mb if they want to cheap out a little more.

I think they have to go to 512 or a gig if they want to relaunch it as a PS3 accessory.  You won't get any PS1 games in 256 megs.

Nintendogs? I am a proud owner of that title. Once you obtain the 'Rack of Deer Antlers' for the dog to wear, replayability really skyrockets.
