Pretty nice but it could be a stop-gap solution.  I'll post a report later.

Yep, Japan. There may be clubs and stuff in Tokyo or Kobe, but not near where I am in south Osaka. Anyway, I sold my figures before moving here 8 years ago, only keeping a couple which a friend had painted for me. Even now whenever I'm stateside, I'm drawn to the GW shops, despite the annoying, almost "groping" approach most of the store staff seem to make on anyone who seems interested.

That's why you gotta go into the store with your cock out.  8)  They don't harass you as much if you're a regular but seeing as you're not, they go for the jugular.   :-\

I picked up:

and a

to get me through my current cold. My old desktop mouse finally shit the bed, and it was getting annoying shuttling my ARC back and forth between my laptop and desktop. I'm actually kinda wishing I'd dropped a few more bucks and got another ARC though.

To send a parcel with a $9 microphone and a coffee crisp in it, I spent $11 for shipping and 1.50 charge to get cash to pay for the shipping.   :'(

muckhole, what MS mouse is that? and how is the scroll wheel?

I bought the Explorer mouse about a week ago and while it was sex the scroll wheel made may say fuck it and stopped using it.

it scrolls without stopping like your regular optical mouse, while it doesn't make any noise I still can't use it for image browsing (posted a thread on gaf but none replied: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=375370 ).

and if this one is the same as the explorer mouse then how's the arc?

The mouse is a Microsoft Wireless 5000, its big selling point is that it's BlueTrack, so it can be used on any surface. The scroll wheel is very loose and imprecise, actually one of the main things I don't like about it. The Arc, on the other hand, has a much tighter wheel that clicks along as you scroll, which I prefer. Be warned though, the ARC may take a little bit of getting used to, given that the surface where I'd traditionally placed my thumb and ring-finger while holding a normal mouse simply aren't there on the ARC due to it's design. Now that I'm used to it though, it's a great mouse, especially as a portable/laptop, but if you're into mice with a ton of advanced functions for say, gaming, you may want something else.

Not sure what you saw, but the reciever for mine is about the same size as a smaller USB thumbdrive.

nah, i'm not into gaming, just regular surfing and image viewing and yeah, blue technology is nice and all but this new noiseless scroll wheel is bullshit.

and i dunno, i got used to the explorer mouse's heavy weight pretty quickly so the arc shouldn't be a big problem as long as the scroll wheel works like you say. i'm getting it as soon as i get some money, in just a week.

thanks bro.

they want $19.99 for an annual membership, but use coupon code GIGAMER (i think, lol. it's in the gaf DS thread) and you get one year free. can use one 10% off coupon @ amazon per day (games/accs. only lol). haven't checked out the other benefits yet though, but the coupons work.

Tuesday is my b-day, so I splurged and spent $30 on classic games to add to my lifelong digital collection

and I got this cause it was $2.99 and I played the demo on a gaf link a while back and it was neat:

Also got my Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 in the mail yesterday, woohoo.  Can't wait to play it.

I wish Under a Killing Moon was on Steam. Always wanted to try it.

Buy it on GOG, add it to your steam list of games?
GOG is better than Steam for a lot of things when it comes to classic games and they're the only other DD company I have zero regrets when I buy from them.

Steam positives:
+Playtime is added to your total gamer time on your profile
+Your friends can see exactly what game you are playing
+Easy to just double click on an owned game and get it up and playing in a few mins
+Auto-patching

GOG positives:
+Games are tested and made sure to to work on XP and Vista (steam is up to the publisher; see Jedi Knight issues)
+No DRM, can download as many times as you want and it's just a rar or something you can put on any computer
+Bonus features:  Sometimes you get the soundtrack cd, full color original manual scan, wallpapers, etc...

Pricing is the main determining factor of where I buy classic games for the most part.  Like I never bought Abe's on GOG because even on sale they were never $5 for both like this weekend's sale on Steam.  OTOH, the Fallout collection was cheaper on GOG and had all the cool bonus features.  I just check both sites for deals and pick up whoever has a good one.  They're both great sites and it's worth giving GOG a chance.

I play ALL my games in Steam regardless of where I purchase them.  I like having 1 list (my steam list) of all installed games on my system.

Pics later (this week, no internets) because I'm on the train

-PS3 power cable because the people in the nihons apparently don't like grounding their shit the easy way
-multiplug

and this is where shit gets real...

I bought an HDTV earlier (all j-bore laugh at me now because I copped it at yodobashi and was probably skullfucked out of my mind with the shitty deal) this week, so I had a fuckload of points to buy shit with. So naturally I bought the dark knight because it was on my list and I needed something awesome tto watch on my tv... BUT THEN I wasted ¥3000 in points on ff7 advent children complete because I wanted to play ffxiii. FUCK. I still have around ¥35000 in points left though, so I guess I'm set for the year on games.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
PS so much for the "I'm not a weaboo, bitches!" thanks, ffxiii
